    Behest Mini Bosses

[PLEASE like this post if you like the idea, don't forget to do it! More chances for it to get implemented]

    Hello!

I tried to look up ideas that'd be similiar to mine from the forums, but I couldn't find any. So
in addition to normal behests, I thought about what could add a little bit more spice to the monotonous way of behests, so here's the idea I came up with:

Every behest could have a mini boss in the end to add in a little bit more anticipation towards to completing it. Behest would stay the same as it is now, but having a little boss in the end would be optional for players so they can choose to defeat it or not. Let's put an example:

You defeat all the normal monsters and get the gil from them, but there's an additional baddie, a miniboss that drops off some neat stuff corresponding to the rank of the behest in question. The mini boss would need a full party to be defeated. It wouldn't be anything too hard, just that you couldn't kill it with just a few people. It's not like you will fail behest if you don't have enough people in it to defeat the boss as you will always get the gil reward from the normal monsters. Also, you could add in some collectibles like a mark that you obtain each time you manage to defeat the boss. Collect enough of these = get something. This would add a great deal of more repeating value on behests than just obtaining a bit of gil every time you complete them.

    So in short...

Behest Monsters - Get gil from defeating them first.
After this you get the option to defeat:
Miniboss - Drops nice stuff for each of the classes. Also drops collectibles (Mark of Conquest) or something along the lines that you can exchange for stuff/gear in the cities.
Get achievement for defeating the minibosses of behests.(?)

    So what do you think?

Not a bad idea. I always wished they treated behest like WAR did with public quest. One of the most innovated things to come into a MMO in a long long time. Ah well.

I would be in favour of this. I sort of think that's what they had planned anyway, with the last group spawning after the initial defeat of the first 'wave', but it sort of doesn't work out like that at the minute... But it would definitely make doing Behest's a LOT more fun.

Yeah I've played WAR too. That's why I thought of this. It really was a good thing in the game, I enjoyed it a lot. The only problem with their public quests was the "rolling for loot" -system, even if you didn't really do anything during the whole public quest, with a high enough roll you could get the best rewards over someone who bust his back killing the monsters. They tried to counter it with having you get points for the effort that you gave during the public quest, but it didn't really serve it's purpose correctly in my opinion. Also the loot that you obtained from the public quest completion rewards weren't anything too fancy. Still they were a nice addition if you happened to have some use for them during your leveling and adventures

The roll was effected by the amount of mobs you killed - the more you did the more of a initial bonus you got. Not sure how well that would work in 14 but I'm sure something could be translated. And geez, some of the stuff was pretty darn good I thought. It depended if you got the top loot bag and what level you were participating in. Either or its nice to see someone coming from it from a WAR point of view. It really was a great aspect in the game that was simple yet good fun.

It would do well for 14 to adopt something like that. I haven't played a game thats done anything like that before - it worthy of a blueprint being swiped and modulated to fit the game.

Thanks for the link! Well, my post specifically deals with the boss idea, having a thread full of different ideas isn't making anything in particular stand out. Also my idea takes up on the item rewards, collectibles and achievements from defeating behest bosses.

I'm pretty sure the monsters at the end is a "mini-boss" event. They are always higher level than any of the previous mobs.

I would love if some of the higher leveled Behests spawned a special NM or something for them.

For stuff less than level 30, it'd be cool if they at least spawned a bigger/slightly altered version of an animal near the camp...like a giant-ish Coblyn with diamonds on its back for the Black Brush behest.
