Thank you, so much. I'm glad they were willing to take into consideration our feedback.Greetings,
After looking over the requests and feedback, the graphics team has decided that when adding metallic equipment in the future, even if dyes are used, the metallic quality will be maintained and not appear to be painted over. They also mentioned that they will be looking into doing this for existing equipment as well, but they would like to prioritize new equipment.
I love you guys.Greetings,

Nooo :<
They had a good reason to remove the metallic hue, and even went to the trouble of doing that.
I say you people do not deserve this wish granted, it's not good :/
Holy freaking yes! Thank you!Greetings,

Wow, this is awesome. I was really starting to think the devs could not be swayed. This gives me faith that certain other issues in the will be eventually taken into consideration.
Thank you, community team, for getting our words heardand thanks to the devs for being flexible for us ^_^
I do hope in the future we can perhaps gain the ability to pick and choose which gear gets the enamel coating individually, rather than removing it from those who may like it. I'd choose metallic every time over enamel coating, but choice is good.
That is fantastic news, I've edited the original post to reflect it.Greetings,

That's a great impasse (even if there's no time to edit the current gear), that'll do grand.
I understand WHY the equipment team did things this way, after all armor coated in paint wouldn't shine like metal (unless it was glossy paint lol), but it just does not look nearly as good. I am glad to see that are going to change this. Now if we had assurance that the equipment team would never make another peace of tin can tank armor.... :PGreetings,

That's lovely news! It's certainly interesting that there was realism considerations placed in the original concept to have them enamel-like. If people want a lore-friendly reason for the new metallic versions, maybe you can envision that Eorzean alchemists have discovered anodizing/electrochemical-plating techniques and taught them to the realms armorers?
Actually there's another thought for the graphics team: would it at all be possible to provide both options? Maybe some gear looks good in the enamel, some in the metallic, and having the choice could be interesting, say as special new dye colors named "Metallic Dalamud Red" in addition to the existing plain "Dalamud Red". Kind of like how many car racing games do it, you can choose the finish of the paint (matte, metallic, chrome, pearlescent) separately from the hue.

What about everyone who likes it the way it is? Bleh. At least give us the option.
I'm glad to see they have been swayed. Perhaps it was a large group of people telling them it would look better if they did less work. Whatever the case, this is especially good news with the vanity system coming up.
