After looking over the requests and feedback, the graphics team has decided that when adding metallic equipment in the future, even if dyes are used, the metallic quality will be maintained and not appear to be painted over. They also mentioned that they will be looking into doing this for existing equipment as well, but they would like to prioritize new equipment.

I understand WHY the equipment team did things this way, after all armor coated in paint wouldn't shine like metal (unless it was glossy paint lol), but it just does not look nearly as good. I am glad to see that are going to change this. Now if we had assurance that the equipment team would never make another peace of tin can tank armor.... :P

I might be reading this wrong, but it almost appears as if you've said "We're asking THEM to be lazy"

We were told the reason why, and as much as most people would agree with their usual thoughts on "What happens in real-life", for this occasion if felt like an unnecessary consideration especially one that in some ways can counter-act the original effect of the piece you're wearing.
