any reason to not put war and magic classes on same character.

Maybe I am search challenged but I'm having trouble finding information on what effect having multiple jobs on a character has. I know you can do it, I know it's how you get advanced jobs. But how it actually works is a mystery to me still. I have also found pleanty of posts on leveling up multiple magic or multple war classes for optimization, but nothing about leveling war and magic on the same character.

I have a 14 arcanist that I'm wanting to go scholor with. But I also really enjoy tanking in MMOs and would like an alt to tank with sometimes. Is there any reason I shouldn't just level a tank class on this same character? Does it limit my arcanist, or is literally like having a completely seperate character, stats and all?

Your bonus stat points aren't shared between separate classes. The only class you currently have to worry about is Arcanist as it branches into 2 jobs and Scholar needs MND for healing whereas Summoner needs INT for damage, but even then you can get away with balancing your points or focusing on one while still being able to play the other. You actually need to level multiple classes in order to unlock your job, and some magic jobs require some levels in war classes and vice versa.

It is pretty much like having separate characters.

awesome, thank you. I have been putting my points into mind since i'm planning on going the scholor route.

I also started leveling a marauder on this character too but wanted to verify that I didn't just mess myself up completely by doing that.

The only issue is filling up your armoury with all of the different outfits.

    Seriously, that's the only issue.

The only reason you would want to create a new character is to replay the story quests.
