Thread: Patch 2.2 Not until after March 21st confirmed.

I would have to agree with Tupsi.. ESO feels like it does the standard MMO better. Graphics wise I simply don't care. They look pretty enough for what they need to do, and on Ultra some of the environments are very pretty, which is all they really need to be. The combat leaves something to be desired, but is definitely more involved than this game, and I don't find the animations so terrible that they destroy my gameplay experience (not saying some people don't, but that isn't where my fun priority determining factor is). I have to pay attention much more, much earlier on with regards to how to handle certain enemies. Other than the starting island (which they're letting you skip at launch.. you'll be able to go straight to the main city), exploration actually feels rewarding and fun, which is a stark contrast to this game where people are asking for convenience features (like teleporting) to be taking out in order to -force- people to explore. The crafting system is extremely useful, and a lot of side quest lines reward you with skills.

The PvP, when I've been a part of it, felt much less zergy than say.. WoW or Aion. Still some element of that, but that's what happens with large scale PvP battles.

ESO is not the best game ever, it's not really breaking any molds when it comes to the MMO world, but it's definitely fun, and if you're a story/explorey type player, it does a very good job of drawing you in. Which not too many MMOs do now-a-days. Even if it's just to play once through the story and all that, I (and many others) feel the game is worth the initial purchase.

Edited to add: And.. of course you're not really going to find much support for any new release in the gaming forums for another recently released MMO. So.. no doubt most of the comments surrounding the game here are going to be negative, cause that's what forums are :P
