Wrote a story to kill time..

Bad grammar and misspellings aside.. Please enjoy this story.. It was fun writing it

Book One: The Last of the Lionguard
    The Grand Tale

“I don’t want to rule!”.. “You’re being silly, only the first born son can be Lord of our kin”.. “but you are older, better at the lance, and Nox’s children already like you!”.. “You are five years old Kai.. I am sure you will grow up to be fine.” “but Demi!”
In the small town, Dragons Wing, located at the peak of a tall mountain nearing Ishgard, the Lionguard clan, blessed by the great Bahamut, resides in relative peace. It was only 400 years since the great King Demitrius IV and his trusted General were marching through these valleys. The story of General Kaisersose walking into a cave of dragons and taming the Bahamut is told as myths to the children of this town. “And the General stood in front of the 200 yalm tall Bahamut and shouted that the attacks on Ishgard are to end today!” Demitrix reached out and grabbed the closest stick and began to thrust it into the air. Kaiser was taken a back and leaped out of the way. “Demi, I want to be the hero!” shouted Kaiser. “But Lord Bahamut is a Hero” said the seven year old girl. “But wasn’t he the one sending dragon raids on the city?” said Kaiser. “You’re kidding right? It was the Garlean King who sent Drakes, not Dragons” said Demitrix. “Of course I am kidding, I mean… even the General thought it was Bahamut” said Kaiser while looking furious at his sister. “What next? What next?” said Kaiser while grabbing a stick of his own. “The great Bahamut called forth his youngest daughter, Nox” “Our Nox!?” “Yes! And stop interrupting me” “Sorry” “And the Bahamut said “as of today the only other creature to have entered my cave was the courageous Lion who has since migrated to the greater realm.” “You are now the Lions and your kin will be forever be bound to my Daughter’s kin” “Kneel as a Noble of Man and Rise as a Noble of Dragons”

    The Marauder Messenger

“I don’t want you to leave Demi” said Kaiser while holding back tears. “Get a hold of yourself Kai! Imagine if Father was to see you like this, besides I am ten years old now and must start my training.” “But it isn’t fair… knight training is for those who are twelve years old” said Kaiser. “What is the duty of those born into the house of our Father?” said Demitrix. “Those born after the heir are bound by honor to heed the call of the dragon and become captain of the guard” said Kaiser while sounding as if he just won an argument. "Riiight.. anNnd?" said Demitrix. "you were born before me!" said Kaiser. "I cant be Lord of the Lionguard Kai!" shouted Demitrix. "Because even though you were born first, I am the first born male" said Kaiser in defeat. "So I, Daughter of our Father!, Sister of you! will be our Captain when you are Lord" said Demitrix in a booming voice. “And being your captain means that I will have to endure five years of training as apposed to three” said Demitrix fiercely. “But Father is both Lord and Captain of the Lionguard, I’ll go when I am ten so that you will be safe” said Kaiser after pounding his fist on the table. “Father was an only child and besides, I want to be Captain!” yelled Demitrix. Kaiser sat back into his fathers chair and felt more defeated. “Well, let us at least practice our sparring, what good is being lord of the Lionguard if I can’t yield a lance half as good as my sister” said Kaiser as he stood up. “And besides, you cannot leave until Father returns from his two month campaign with the King” said Kaiser full heartedly. The two began with basic techniques. “Have you ever seen Father’s six fold attack Kai?” said Demitrix. “I saw it at the King’s tournament last year while you had the flu” “What! Why haven’t you ever told me?” “It was a side of our father I’ve never seen before” “What do you mean?” “Someone was trying to either rig the tournament or assassinate the king by releasing a rainbow basilisk onto the gladiator grounds” “The basilisk turned toward the king and glared its red eyes, I was petrified with fear” “You’re making this up” “Demi, I am being honest. Father under his speed surge leaped into the air at heights unimaginable by man and pierced the basilisks in a six fold attack” “The spell we were under instantly broke” “The King awarded him a champions lance and ended the tournament with a celebration in his honor” “They only gave Father a lance. You’re lying” “There are only four champion lances in existence that were crafted by the great carpenter of Gridania. This lance just happens to be a relic of our ancestor that was entrusted to the King several generations ago.” There was a crash and the door to the great hall slammed open. A man of the Roegadyn tribe wielding a massive axe on his back yelled, “My Lord! Ala Mhigo has fallen to the Garlean Empire.” “Who dares enter this chamber unannounced and armed?” said a fierce voice. A tall beautiful woman with chestnut brown hair entered the hall from behind. She was wielding a great bow with red coral arrows aimed at the marauders chest. “Speak now or be fed to the dragons” said the woman coldly. “My name is Warwolf, and ma’ lady… I would never bear arms against the Lionguard or the Demon Archer of Gridania. I am a messenger of the Grand Companies and I was given the task to relay a message to Lord Antaine, your husband and Captain of the Lionguard. “Demon Archer is a name that I no longer go by, you may call me Lady Lynn” said the woman as she retracted her arrow. “The Lord is out on a campaign against the Garlean Empire with the King of Ishgard, you may speak to my Son, Kaisersose, who is heir and acting lord at this moment” said Lady Lynn. “Yes, ma’ lady” said Warwolf as he kneeled to Kaiser. “Lord, the Grand Companies are to march against the Garlean Empire and we request the aide of the Lionguard at this very moment” said Warwolf still kneeling. “I will send a messenger to my Father, but the remaining Dragon Knights will not participate in this battle until I hear back from Him" said Kaiser in a diplomatic voice. “But Lord! We can end this war now… you must reconsider” barked Warwolf. “How dare you Roegadyn!” Demitrix yelled. Demitirx in a flash of an eye leaped to a lance on the wall and back. With her weapon at the throat of Warwolf’s neck she said, “His word is law of the Lionguard… Don’t forget your place.” “Demi! Get back and hold your words” said her Mother. “I regret my sisters outburst Warwolf” said Kaiser. “I regret your decision Sir Kaisersose… and I wouldn’t expect less from the children of Lions and Demons… I will return to Limsa Lominsa to enter battle” said Warwolf as he walked out of the great hall. “Padme!” yelled Lady Lynn. “Yes my lady” said another voice. “Take your dragon and bring word to our Lord” said Lady Lynn. “Bahamut grace us with strong winds” said the Dragon Knight Padme. As the knight kneeled to Kaiser and Demitrix she said, “Don’t feel bad Lady Demitrix, my daughter would have ripped Warwolf’s head off.” Demitrix grinned and saluted.

    Undying Flames

“My Lady!” the Dragon Knight shouted. Lady Lynn holding a letter while withholding tears, “We cannot give up hope… send the remaining knights to hold the southern airways”, said Lady Lynn. “My Lady, the town is in flames and as our Lord’s last request, he ordered me to take his family away from Dragons Wing to Ishgard which is west”, the Dragon Knight said while also holding back tears. “I cannot believe that the Garlean Emperor's Sons would be such cowards, to have attacked us after their Fathers' loss of the dual to our Lord” said the Dragon Knight. “The Garleans seek the destruction of the Gods, and this heinous act outside the realm of chivalry will go unnoticed by Lord Bahamut” said Lady Lynn. “Where is Padme?” said Lady Lynn while grabbing her bow. “My Lady, she is flying the injured King back to Ishgard” said the Dragon Knight. “Send word to Padme that her final order is to take my children and flee to a safe location within Gridania… My kin will protect them” “what about you my Lady?” “The Demon Archer of Gridania will sing her final requiem with her bow… Now go!” “Yes my Lady”
Lady Lynn entered the chamber that her children were in. “My children, Padme is to take you away from this battle to my kin in Gridania” said Lady Lynn as she looked at her crying children. “I should have sent our troops with Warwolf” said Kaiser while tears fall from his face. “My Son, you are now Lord of the Lionguard and you have your Captain… you must be brave” said Lady Lynn. “The town burns Mother! I must enter battle to repel the flames” yelled Demitrix with tears also running down her face. “Remember what is written in the Book of Phoenix” said their mother. “The Lionguard will never be defeated as long as Lord and Captain stay true to Bahamut’s Code” said Kaiser. “What about you Mother?” said Kaiser. “I will remain here with Nox and hold back the flames of war from reaching the other city states” said Lady Lynn. “Nox will enter the battle?” said Demitrix in disbelief. At that very moment the roof of the chamber was torn open. A medium sized dragon swooped in and seized the two children. Lady Lynn smirked and said, “Padme would stay to fight with me and send her dragon to take my children to our home… what a good friend she has always been.” “This is Ember, one of the many children of Nox who are kin to us and Padme’s trusted dragon, she will fly you to a safe location. Only return when you hear that it is safe” said Lady Lynn. Lady Lynn handed Demitrix the letter from her Father. “Do not forget who you are” said their Mother as Ember took flight. The heat was intense as the two flew away into the horizon. Every Dragon Knight that they passed sped back to Dragons Wing to defend the town. Demitrix and Kaiser looked back and saw the massive Nox destroy a huge Garlean carrier. “They are outnumbered… Turn around!” screamed Kaiser. Ember continued towards the southern airways with disregard to Kaiser’s order. Many hours passed and suddenly Ember gave a huge twitch that awoken Kaiser. Tears ran from the Dragon’s eyes. With what felt like a tear in reality, Demitrix and Kaiser both envisioned the death of Nox and the fall of the town as if it was some sort of echo. The two fainted from the vision.
“Hi! my name is Padme and you’re safe here at my home” said a cheerful voice. “I see you are riding Ember, which means that my Mother must have sent you two to play with me” said the Miqo’te with pink hair. “Looks like Ember is sleepy, so we can’t go flying” said Padme. Suddenly the ground shook and a massive roar was heard. The same feeling overcame Demitrix and Kaiser from before. “I Bahamut will engage the Garlean Empire to avenge my Daughter… My kin will fly at nightfall” said a strong voice. “Did you hear that voice?” said Demitrix. “Yes” said Kaiser. “No” said Padme looking with horror from the great roar outside. Ember had awoken, and looked at Kaiser, Demitrix, and Padme. A tear ran from her eye and she took flight. “She must’ve been summoned by my mom” said Padme. Demitrix opened the letter and began to read as her eyes brimmed with tears.

    My love,
It is said that Demons steal the hearts of men. What better title suits the woman I love? You were once called Demon Archer. Although you have given up your past name, your arrows still pierce my heart like the day we first met. Golden were the days of our youth. I am on my way back to you my love.

    Forever Bound,
    Antaine

Demitrix began to cry. As her tears landed on the parchment different words began to form. Demitrix ran to a stream near the house and dampened the parchment. The words began to form legible sentences.

    My Love,
I dueled and defeated the Garlean Emperor in hopes that it will spare Ishgard from the flames of unnecessary war. I am mortally wounded with dark magic. I cannot spare the time to come home. I must warn Lord Bahamut of the Empires true intent. I fear that the Emperor’s Sons will send legions after me to deter my message to the Dragon God. I cant believe that the Empire will attempt to kill Gods. Take Kaisersose and Demitrix to Ishgard. I fear the seventh umbral age is about to begin.

    Forever Bound,
    Antaine

“Demi?” said Kaiser who didn’t notice what Demitrix was doing. “Yes Kai?” said Demitrix. “Dragons Wing has fallen, Nox is dead, and Bahamut is engaging the Empire” said Kaiser. “Kai! You better..” said Demitrix before she was cut off by Kaiser. “I will never yield a lance as good as you, but I swear on the Lionguard that I will personally destroy the Empire!” screamed Kaiser. Kaiser picked up an axe and began cutting away at an old tree. “I will be with you for when we do battle the Empire… and we will have the Honor of Lions and the Strength of Dragons” Demitrix said while grinding her teeth. “Stop it you two!” yelled Padme even louder. “Are you trying to get woodsin?” said Padme. Kaiser and Demitrix began to look at each other and started to laugh. “We will need to train” said Kaiser. “We will form a new clan” said Demitrix. “The Shattered Union of The Republic” said Kaiser. “Count me in!” said Padme.
