I'm on the final Paladin job quest and i'm getting spanked. I google searched the mission, and they mentioned doing with a full party. All the other job missions were solo only. Am I supposed to have help for this one, or was that just a bad walkthrough? Also any tips for the quest would be appreciated. Cheers.

I failed this quest only once, because Jenlyns and Soulzglyl got swarmed by mobs and perished, meaning Duty Failed. You just have to stick close to them and fight whatever they're fighting. Also if they tell you to go after a specific target, follow their directions and change targets to whoever it is that they're talking about. Just make sure when the ACN appears at the end and summons his ugly pals, to go after him and take him down. It basically just comes down to sticking close to the NPCs and assist them.

And yes, the PLD quest is solo only - the walkthrough you were reading was probably outdated from version 1.0 which indeed could do it with a party. But in ARR all Job quests are solo-instances only I'm afraid.

Old bad walkthrough.
It is a bit of a tough fight. Use food, have your PLD gear equipped, make sure your weapon is up to date .. the usual stuff.
Other than that, remember that the NPCs won't dodge. I made sure to grab any mobs with an aoe and turn them away. I started with the eye since it can paralyze. Then the giant. If you can get both - even better.
For the second part, the book is down at the end. Heal up first before heading down there. I think it releases an aoe attack around itself, so watch out for that. Again grab any mobs that appear and try to keep aoe's off the npcs. You are actually much tougher than they are.
For the third part, when the caster appears .. I'm sorry, I can't actually remember what I did. I want to say I grabbed his attention and then ran off to deal with the adds, but I can't remember for sure.

The Ogre and the Ahriman go down really easily.

For the part after you activate the Grimoire, you're supposed to focus on the small guys until the Roegadyn tells you to go with Jenlyns and attack the book. After that's done mop up any remaining adds and then kill the caster.

Make sure to kill the book that is summoning monsters. Also, people tend to ignore NPCs (especially in FATES) which is a big NO NO. Make sure to keep as many NPCs alive as possible during solo content. Even if you have to stop and dedicate a minute to healing them. They will tank and deal significant amounts of damage. It's the same with the other main story quest people have trouble with in Coerthas (The Heretic or whatever). Keep those NPCs alive, and focus on one monster. Also, stun and pacify.
