I know you are trying to help, but your math is appalling.Chocobo's are granted 25% of the XP you would get yourself from a kill. So if you got 100 XP for your character, it would get 25 XP itself. Keep in mind that a Chocobo actually TAKES XP away from you, for itself. So for my example, 100 XP for you and 25 for the Chocobo, means if it was not summoned, you would have gotten 125 XP.
The XP notation in the battle log appears somewhat odd to say the least.
Your personal experience is as follows:
"You gain <amount> (<percent>%) <class> experience points."
Your Chocobo's experience gain is as follows:
"You gain <amount> experience points."
