Aggravate people in a different Group? How lol?.. You are helping them killing their mobs and since they had initial claim the get credit regardless of how much they've contributed. There is no disadvantage for the group, just for you because there is a really, really small risk you will not get 100% Credit for it and you will not get "items", which only applies to openfield mobs. Has nothing to do with being polite, since this is not XI were "stealing" actually would have an negative impact on the other group, in XIV it does not.

If i claim a group of Mobs in a Fate and i see people start fighting it, then i will leave those mobs alone. Because i will get credit regardless, but i also give those people the chance to get credit as well. THAT is what i call polite, since i am helping those people. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and tbh i never heard/saw anyone complaining if you attack THEIR claims. There is simply no reason to.
Yes as a matter of fact i have. Many times to great success in fact. I do it with my FC these days instead of just randoms.

And as for generally pissing off others in a group, yes that happens a lot. Join a fate group that is not yet full and pull out your Chocobo. Without fail one or more will demand you remove your Chocobo. There is a reason why they demand this and this is no different to the stealing of kills for other groups you are not a part of. You are not ''helping them kill their mobs'', in fact you are stealing the very thing they are there to gain.
