Aggravate people in a different Group? How lol?.. You are helping them killing their mobs and since they had initial claim the get credit regardless of how much they've contributed. There is no disadvantage for the group, just for you because there is a really, really small risk you will not get 100% Credit for it and you will not get "items", which only applies to openfield mobs. Has nothing to do with being polite, since this is not XI were "stealing" actually would have an negative impact on the other group, in XIV it does not.

If i claim a group of Mobs in a Fate and i see people start fighting it, then i will leave those mobs alone. Because i will get credit regardless, but i also give those people the chance to get credit as well. THAT is what i call polite, since i am helping those people. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and tbh i never heard/saw anyone complaining if you attack THEIR claims. There is simply no reason to.
Yes as a matter of fact i have. Many times to great success in fact. I do it with my FC these days instead of just randoms.

And as for generally pissing off others in a group, yes that happens a lot. Join a fate group that is not yet full and pull out your Chocobo. Without fail one or more will demand you remove your Chocobo. There is a reason why they demand this and this is no different to the stealing of kills for other groups you are not a part of. You are not ''helping them kill their mobs'', in fact you are stealing the very thing they are there to gain.

    Wait.. what?.. Are you trolling?

Seriously, i've NEVER seen someone telling someone else to get their Chocobo away. If i attack claimed mobs, the person/group who initially claimed it will get 100% credit, so what do i steal? Please enlighten me how i can steal something from an allready tagged target. Or are we playing a different Game?

I have a lv 50 character, so will the chocobo still het 25 percent? Or all of it?

How much exp will it get if I go around killing lv 45 to 50 mobs?

Around 214 exp if you kill level 50 enemies.

Ok, so there seems to be a lot of misinformation in this thread. I've personally done the long grind to get my chocobo to rank 10, so let me shed some light on the process.

When your chocobo is out, if you would get exp on your current job against the mob you're fighting, your chocobo gets the same amount of xp as you would obtain from that mob. For example, if at level 49 you killed a mob and got 200 exp if you did it solo, with your chocobo out while you were on the same level 49 job you would obtain 200 exp and your chocobo would obtain 200 exp.

The best way to level your chocobo at the moment is in groups, gathering up a bunch of enemies at once and AoE bursting them down. Chocobos ONLY GAIN XP FROM KILLING ENEMIES! This means no FATE completion bonuses, no quest turn-ins, nothing. Just pure, simple grinding. It takes a long, long time to level your chocobo from rank 1-10, since at best you'll probably be getting around 200-300 xp per mob, and even in a group it takes a long time. The fastest method I've found nets roughly 100,000 exp per hour. My chocobo was rank 6 when they implemented the EXP TNL being shown for your chocobo, so I'm not sure how much EXP it takes to get from 1→6, however from 6→10 it takes 3,330,000 exp:

    Rank 1→2 ???,???
    Rank 2→3 ???,???
    Rank 3→4 ???,???
    Rank 4→5 ???,???
    Rank 5→6 ???,???
    Rank 6→7 490,000
    Rank 7→8 700,000
    Rank 8→9 - 940,000
    Rank 9→10 - 1,200,000

So basically 32 hours of straight grinding. (If any of these exp numbers are wrong, please let me know with a screenshot so I can change it).

As for the method that people in this thread are talking about, there seems to be some confusion as to how it works. Let me clear it up:

at most, you'll have 2 full parties of 4 people each (4 people + 4 Chocobos in each party). One party is the "Pull party" and the other is the "Kill Party". The Pull party will have one member round up all the enemies and gather them up at the kill point. This gives the pull party claim on all of the enemies that are going to be killed. Once the enemies are gathered up, the Kill party will AoE the enemies down, while the Pull party does not attack at all. The pull party gets full exp for their chocobos since they had claim on the enemies, thus guaranteeing 100% exp regardless of battle participation. The Kill party gets full exp for their chocobos as the kill party did more than enough damage to the enemies to have their contribution rewarded will full exp. This way, both parties get full exp and everyone wins!

(and just to preemptively ward off skeptics, proof of rank 10 chocobo: )

    Fixed it for you.
I don't have a screenshot as you ask, but i don't need one. Done the terrible grind the past week.

I figured partying up and gathering mobs to aoe them at urth's fount was the fastest way to level chocobos. Around 100k exp a hour together with the 5% chocobo FC buff.
For solo grinding i found either natalan in coerthas or some place in western la noscea (Place with lots of roegadyn bandits, jellyfishes, near the sahagin grottos) the best option.
It'd still be slower than the grind at Urth's fount in south shroud. Soloing would give me about 60-80k exp a hour.

Wouldn't it be more effective to level a chocobo on a lower level alt job? If you and your chocobo are, for example, level 30, you could potentially attack mobs a level or two above that and get more XP for each mob, not to mention chain bonuses. I guess I'm not sure of the math on that.

Make sure you are killing mobs you would get XP for, if you are level 50 you wont get anything killing level 10 mobs you need like 46+ iirc
