I'm gonna say crafters in Besaid are either greedy or RMT. I am an r37 Arc from Mysidia, and I generally use Obsidian arrows as my general purpose ammunition, mostly because I can craft them when I have the materials, but also because I can buy them from the Centuar's eye in Gridania when I don't. I have an Armored Calvary bow, so I'm not worried about not doing enough damage. Since I can craft them, I often grind them out in large quantities whenever I have the materials, and of those, I'll keep some for my own use, and sell the rest, usually at around 30 gil per arrow, or whole sets for 30k. I've had people tell me that they aren't worth crafting, and that they would never sell, but I actually made my first million gil this way, and without being a greedy jackhole. People will always flock to a crafter who can sell for less than his/her contemporaries, so it will force other players to compete for customers, often by selling at a reduced price.
