hey reinhart I was hoping you could help me with a translation. During the Live Letters I hear them say this alot (sorry for the bad spelling) I would pronounce it as "so dis nei". They use it alot and I was curious what it means exactly.

Is more So Des-ne, which also same as "so desuka" (so-des-ka, muting the "u") which mean "I see"

It's actually more of a confirmation. Used when telling someone what they said is accurate.

I'd translate it as "That is so, isn't it..."

No wonder they got in trouble... lol saw on twitter they were saying they got in trouble for doing th extra's in this live test lol

1st Mocchi says he was called out by Soken to do the soudtest so he can adjust the sound while Mocchi talks, so Mocchi used a power point presentation to explained how much hours YoshiP spent overseas showing how many hours he was in each area + the total flight time was 33 hours lol (YoshiP hates air plane) then talks about if YoshiP's face looked same as Roegadyn's skin tone due to all the hard work, to warmly welcome him.

Then Mocchi calls out Soken saying the sound test is already good, so Soken says he wanted to do something since he did Gridania BGM and then he leaked the Limsa BGM without approval and got in trouble... he said we're missing one more... He spent the time yesterday taking shots and just finished editing 30 minutes ago...

They try to show the vid but they failed twice and on the 3rd try the vid shows up with Ul'dah's BGM, if you watch the video you'll see towards the end Soken posing with the 'bench' hinting something... On JP 2ch forums people were asking when is the 'bench'mark coming out and other people were posting 'hey here it is!' and linked it to a image of 'bench'... Soken took that idea and used it... lol

From here... it's better to just translate for me than summarize..

Soken "What you mean what!? It's sound director fooling around with the bench at the park"
Mocchi "Not talking about that, that's going too far (gonna get us in trouble)"
Soken "(laugh) you think so too, well today he's (YoshiP) not here, I guess the sound (BGM) was pretty bad"
Mocchi "Forget the sound breaking..."
(knock on the door)
Staff "Soken-san we got some problem, YoshiP is on the phone asking for you, please answer it right now, this is really bad"
Mocchi "Told you..."
Staff "Please answer it right now, really"
Soken "Really?"
Staff "Yeah really, it's him, please answer the phone, this is really bad"
Mocchi "What are you going to do?"
Soken "Alright, I'll answer it, really??"
Staff "Yes, it's real"

Soken "Ahh this is Soken and Mocchi doing live test right now"
YoshiP "I'm back now and I was watching the live test and I just had the move (car) stopped. I have lot's of things I would like to say... Mocchi saying that there isn't much on power point and stuff Soken-san... releasing Ul'dah without any permission... (Soken laughs) what the hell are you guys doing? YoshiP "Although it's only test broadcast you missed getting the video out to the customers correctly, what is going on?"
Mocchi "I'm sorry"
Soken "I'm sorry, there was some unexpected trouble happening twice (getting the 2nd video up)"
YoshiP "And what was that images of the bench at the park and closing up to it."
Soken "Ummm, that was... everyone thinks that talking about bench is a taboo, so I just wanted to fool around to see what's going on with it."
YoshiP "What kind of meaning is there behind that bench?"
Soken "Ummm, I kind of wanted to... throw the ball to see what's going on with the benchmark..."
YoshiP "So you guys wanted to know how I did at overseas and the benchmark"
Soken "Yes, using this current position (test broadcast) (looks at staff) umm is it alright to ask this?" (asking staff) "I'm just going to ask"
YoshiP "What are you guys planning..."
Soken (laugh) "When is the benchmark releasing, really?"
YoshiP "Whaa... PS4 even got announced today and.. well it's going to release midnight tonight"
Staff "I'll get it ready by then"
Soken "What, today? What... Yoshida-san it's today?"
YoshiP "Oh isn't it today?"
Soken "After hitting midnight today, in 2hrs 30minutes? You sure you want to say that?"
YoshiP "Should be alright, I can't make it to work today, tomorrow I got the Company briefing tomorrow so... yeah good luck"
Soken "OK will do our best!"
YoshiP "I think now all the users are going to wait for it since we said it so"
Soken "Well this is still broadcasting"
Mocchi "Yep"
YoshiP "Since we said it, might as well, in the benchmark there are lots of gimmicks inside that might make you think 'is this stuff really moving at real time?' and stuff so yeah, forget about this half-finished (half assed lol) broadcast"
(Everyone laugh)
Soken "You're right"
YoshiP "Say I pass out and can't make it tomorrow it's going to be Wada-san alone"
Soken "He's coming out again?"
YoshiP "In worst case, if I pass out I'll have Wada-san do it on his own"
Soken "I kind of want to see that, but without YoshiP it won't be broadcast so please make sure you get in tomorrow."
YoshiP "I'll try my best, if I do pass out, just watch the benchmark..."
Soken "That's not going to work, please make sure you get in tomorrow."
YoshiP "You guys know what's (mumble)"
Soken "Yes, understood" (probably gonna get scolded lol)

Soken "It was bad timing to do the broadcast (laugh)."

Soken "I can't go buy kara-age kun (Japanese fried chicken - really good, Soken's favorite), but that's good although we're kind of down, the users gonna get bench so..."
Mocchi "Well in a way it's thanks to you"
Soken "Well it's thanks to YoshiP and thanks to (point at staff) (mumbles name)"
Mocchi "Yes, I don't care about the rest"
Soken "This is one weird test broadcast lol"
Mocchi "Right now my heart is murmuring"
Soken "Of course, why would anyone release info on benchmark release during test broadcast, well anyways it's good (claps)
Mocchi "Yeah it's good" (hits Soken in the chest)
(Soken laugh, Mocchi shaking his head)
Soken "Well everyone is happy right..." (both looking at Twitter feeds for comments)
Mocchi "It says YoshiP's real scolding..."
Soken "I was happy about bench and forgot about that..., well we'll just say bye here then, we got nothing else to say right"
Mocchi "no, nothing, nothing to say, I mean we said too much"
Soken "Ahh...... is that good enough... (looking at staff)"
Staff "About tomorrow broadcast"
Soken "Oh yeah, it doesn't mean it's going to end today. Tomorrow is the real live! Starting around 8 PM (JST), this time we got some stuff again right?"
Staff "This time we really don't have anything"
Soken "Oh yeah, I see (laugh)"
Mocchi "Right now between you and me, there is a gap (ditch) right here"
Soken "Wha, why?" (laugh)
Mocchi "I feel like I was pulled into this"
Soken "Yeah, earlier I gave you some food and asked if you're going to help"
Mocchi "Yes..."
Soken "Don't worry, I'll buy you one more" (laugh) "I'll even add coffee"

Mocchi "Anyways first lets finish the broadcast and decide on that"
Soken "Ok, well everyone please look forward for tomorrow broadcast and the benchmark releasing midnight today"
Mocchi "Well we're going to finish the test broadcast"

With vids probably can do something like that but sucks I have to downlod the vid and go back and add caption... lol
This was only 20min video and took me about an hour... if I did the same with the actual Live Letter gonna take long time...

Maybe in future do something like I catch bits and pieces and for Q/A portion just put in the official answer in the cc or something may work... but still gonna take some time to edit the vid with all that info.
