Siliconera is revealing an "unnannounced exclusive title from Square-Enix" today. FFXIV: A Realm Reborn (also registered as trademark by SE EU&US)? Interviews regarding it coming up in the near future?ご迷惑をおかけしますが、続報までお待ちください。
(吉田は明日から海外出張なので、Community Repから続報が上がると思います!)
Sorry for the trouble but please wait for an update.
(Currently I will be out of country from tomorrow so there should be an update from Community Rep!)

Anyone got a link to that video? 3min is insane!
(also, off topic: FFXIV 2.0 has been announced, Siliconera's game reveal is for an unannounced game, so I doubt it's it.)
This is the same thing as the Moogle exploit. No one's getting banned for dev mistakes.
When did "Killing as fast as possible using spells" become an exploit though??
The Moogle thing was a definite exploit.... (Even though it was the Devs mistake and therefore not bannable)
But having 5 BLM's burn like crazy is no different than any other attempt.
Its no different than soloing something on BLM and trying to nuke it down before it gets any attacks off..
Isn't that the entire premise behind BLMs?
From what I understand there is a glitch in the NPC AI, something to do with how it calculates remaining HP.
And the fast burn employed by multiple back mages somehow causes this to break.
Yes they are only doing as much damage as they can, but from what I read on the translations page, it seemed to imply that the boss was either taking more damage than was actually done, or dieing before it's hp was actually supposed to run out.

Oh... Good info.. I was thinking the problem is that it was supposed to be like ifrit. With ifrit, he does hellfire 60 seconds after the nails come up.... So in theory you could burn him so fast after nails that he never gets a chance to hellfire. With this in mind, SE designed him so he would instantly hellfire if his HP goes below 5 or 10%From what I understand there is a glitch in the NPC AI, something to do with how it calculates remaining HP.

I thought the Garuda burn is possible because that HP failsafe was not in place, which meant you could speed burn her to the point of not seeing her big epic move....
I didn't know there was actually a discrepancy with the amount of damage done
I remember people said the same thing about Salvage duping exploit. "It was a developers mistake and I'm just using it, I can't be banned."
Sorry kid, if they want to ban for it they easily could as it does benefit you for exploiting a flawed trigger, but Yoshida said they would't, not they couldn't or shouldn't ban for it.
