Well... if that is the case I'm not as sad he is gone. I'm not happy the guy lost his job, but I think many of those things were not among XIV's best features. You guys Kenichi Iwao did not write the story or lore, that is Yaeko Sato, Scenario. In Iwao's own words: "I make the drafts for the characters, equipment, areas and setting and come up with names. I am in charge of items, guildleves, and other things and their circulation in the game, along with crafting and shops and a lot of other things… quite a wider range than in FFXI."
I'm sure he influenced everything and he appeared to be quite knowledgeable about the scenario but that didn't sound like his main job. I would be devastated if Yaeko Sato left though! I <3 the lore of this game. It's truly unique. I hope he doesn't leave because the story progress has stalled out.
The Ifrit video looks like it is a continuation of the story to me.I'm sure he influenced everything and he appeared to be quite knowledgeable about the scenario but that didn't sound like his main job. That's good to hear, because even though inconsistency in item art can make the world feel disconnected it's not as important as lore and setting consistency. IMO anyways. You guys Kenichi Iwao did not write the story or lore, that is Yaeko Sato, Scenario. I feel sorry for Sato though. Having to make up lore that didn't originally belong in the game must be a hard task.
Sato is the original Scenario writer, so I'm sure he's writing lore from the bottom of his heart! He never got replaced. That's good to hear, because even though inconsistency in item art can make the world feel disconnected it's not as important as lore and setting consistency. IMO anyways.

But there's a practical use for learning japanese: Playing Tales Of games ~
Self-teaching is the only way to learn the language. Classes are for weeaboos.
All you need is a 20 buck book, internet access and patience.
Wish that were true for writing it. Talking is one thing but I can't work out how their alphabet works. It's no wonder they're so artistic, I can't even write some of their letters @.@
Oh what a load of crap, please.
You say that like every japanese citizen is some sort of genius or something. It's their fricking alphabet, they learn it as children just like every other country that uses phonetic symbols. Is everyone in China an artist? I can guarantee you no.
I can understand having a passion for the country and the culture, but having weeaboo blindfolds like that isn't going to help you.

American cartoon
Who's better at art?
I know what you mean though, if you learn it as a kid it's easier than trying to learn it as an adult. Kids learn things quicker than adults, natural fact.
It's just that in comparison, the Japanese alphabet just seems so much more complex than the English alphabet to me.
