Give this game 5 years and no other MMO will be able to anything but kneel before this games awesome.Really sorry about since its still far out but we are making changes to the equipment system entirely so the equipment is in different slot per class, and being able to change in a set. So in the current inventory the current equipped gear and equipment for armory will be gone. (Devs are calling it mannequin system)

I guess it's still OK, different from what Bay posted yesterday doesn't say anything about the 'rank required' gear being mainly from NM or such conents. With above it looks like it can also mean for most gear crafted also, and limiting the equipments with 'optimal rank' stats.皆さん、こんばんは。

Checked once again with Producer Yoshida regarding goals for equipment's 'optimal rank'
今後追加される新しい装備品については、基本的に装備できる条件が、クラス【専用】ランク【必須】になっていきます。
ただし追加される装備品すべてが【専用】【必須】になるわけではなく、装備条件のない装備品ももちろん追加していきます。
In general for future included equipment will have 'class specific', 'required rank'.
However this doesn't mean all equipment becoming 'specific' or 'required', there will of course be equipment that has no restrictions.
たとえば街中で着る場合には誰でも装備できる装備品で、
バトルに行く、レイドに挑戦するなどの場合は【専用】【必須】の装備を付けるなど、
メリハリを付けるようにしていきます。
For example will make within cities have equipment anyone can equip, and for going to battle, or challenging in raids equipping 'specific', 'required' equipment. Will add variety.
Just like the NA side some people didn't get YoshiP's message in the past about how the airships going to work now and later on so the Reps clarified it for us, so here goes:

1.19で実装される飛空艇については 第17回プロデュサーレター でもお伝えしていますが、出発と着陸時にはカットシーンの演出がありますが、移動は一瞬になり飛空艇内を動きまわるといったことはできません。
The airship releasing in 1.19, as stated in 17th producer letter, there will be departing/landing cut scenes but the travel will be instantly where you wont be able to move around the airship.
ただし、将来的には飛空艇の中も動きまわれるようにする計画があります。
そしてその際には、飛空艇内で事件が起こったり、クエストが発生したりなど、飛空艇内での遊びも一緒に提供していきます。
However, there are plans for future to be able to move around inside the airship.
And when that happens, will offer contents you may play such as some kind of problem occurring on the airship, or quest happening.
まずはひとつの移動手段として飛空艇をご利用ください!
For now please think of it and utilize the airship as additional method for travel!
JP side has a thread going which talks about how the sub-quests doesn't have any taste, it plain and boring you just read some text, no cut scenes and their isn't too much live feeling to it. They want devs to add more performance to the sub-quests giving out ideas to improve them.

サブクエストの演出についてプロデュサーの吉田と話をしてきました。
Talked to Yoshida producer regarding performance of sub-quests.
サブクエストが全くない状況から、サブクエストなどのクエスト周りのシステムをこれまで追加してきましたが、
パッチ1.21で実装を予定しているジョブ専用クエストがシステムとしての山場となります。
We started at a point where no sub-quests existed, we added quest system such as sub-quests but the job specific quests which is planned for patch 1.21 will be the turning point.
この実装が終わった後には、サブクエストの内容をどんどんストーリー重視にシフトしていきます。
Once this gets implemented, we will shift to more and more sub-quests with more story.
カットシーンはもちろん、人間臭いようなお話のクエスト、ハッチャケたキャラクターがバンバン出てくるクエスト、
街に入ったり、船に乗ったり、飛空艇に乗ったらクエストがいきなりはじまるなどなど、
多種多様なクエストが実装されていくことを、ぜひぜひ楽しみにお待ちください!!
Of course we will have cut scenes, quests with humanlike stories (drama?), quests tht will have lots of fun characters. Quests which will suddenly happen when entering the city, or boat, or airships. Please have fun and wait for the lots of quests planned to be implemented.

Anyone started a thread asking whats going to happen to gatherers who obtains crystals/shards through gathering by putting bonus points into the element they want to obtain the crystal/shards for. Here's reps response to that one.

いクリスタルを狙う代替方法が出てきますか?
Currently for gatherers to be able to obtain crystals are affected by elemental parameters and to obtain the crystals I want, i put in a lot of bonus into that element once the physical/elemental bonus is removed it there another way to obtain crystals?
Checked with Yoshida P and dev team in charge regarding another method to aim for crystals.
属性のついた装備をすることでそのクリスタルがでやすくなりますので、廃止後は装備を工夫しクリスタルを狙うことになります。
By equipping gear that has that element (the one you want) you will be able to obtain the crystals, so after the elemental bonus is gone, you will be required to plan out your equipment to obtain crystals.
具体的には皆さんのコメントにもあるとおり、属性をもったアクセサリを装備することはもちろん、パッチ1.19で実装されるマテリアクラフトを利用して、属性のあるマテリアを武器や防具に装着し、その装備品を装備するなどの手段があります。
Generally like everyone's comment, equipping accessories which has element is one, but also using materia craft which will be included in patch 1.19, by putting materia which has elements and equipping those will also be another method.
どの組み合わせが良いかなど試していただいて、パッチ1.19後も引き続きフィードバックをお願いいたします。
