    It's super rough version, didn't change, fix anything just went along with the video so as usual might be missing some stuff.
    I have to get to some work stuff so I may come back later to fix it up a bit but since it's test broadcast version don't expect too much from it.
    1) They will sell Distant Worlds album on 6/26
    2) They will sell FFXIV - Before Meteor sound track with 104 tracks which is over 6 hours - Has all the previous version XIV sound tracks in blue ray music disk format.
    3) If you buy Before Meteor sound track it will come with Dalamud minion
    4) Since sound track is blue-ray disk, they also will include MP3 version inside so you can transfer to your portable device to listen.
    5) Video recap of 1.x primal battles stopped half way, YoshiP comes in an scolds Soken and Mocchi, asks what the hell is Soken wearing on his head, Soken says he can't answer but YoshiP kept on saying Scholar. PR tries to stop him saying that info hasn't been released yet, but YoshiP get's pissed off at PR and tells them they are as bad as him and makes the PR guy also get in seiza stance and to leave a comment for FF14 players.

    So 1.0 non-legacy players that own a standard XIV copy (not CE) can only get the in-game items if they use the digital upgrade, but if they want the physical and digital stuff they need to buy the ps3 version?

    Yep ~_~ There's a workaround if you buy the PS3 CE but you can't attach an ARR PC CE (either physical or download) code to any previously existing service account unless you spend the extra $20 on a digital upgrade as well. We're hoping they'll find an alternate solution for this or long term FFXIV fans are going to be burnt yet again (first on 1.0 release, now on ARR release).


    Edit: Also the same applies regardless of whether you're a legacy player or not.

    y; (he fixes that) By attacking the mob from behind and side you will have bonus on damage at same time while getting those damage bonus you’ll also get buffs.
    y; by being able to keep those bonuses going the damage will keep on increasing
    y; also talking about Dragoons, their main speciality is jump so this time they will jump greatly
    y; there are many types of jumps, so you can jump to get close then use skill to stun, or start from the behind and this time, from the feedbacks we received the global cool down is now different for ability, so you can use ability and power up and continue on from there.

    By globalizing the data center, we are going to go through distribution of previous FFXIV's 10 worlds, and asking all previous FFXIV players to re-select a world.
    Basically we ask all previous FFXIV players to re-select a world, but there seems to be some concerns and misunderstanding, therefore I would like to explain the reasoning for how the selection was made.

    ■複数のデータセンターへの対応■

    Addressing multiple data centers

    まず、なぜ今回データセンターを二つに分けたのか、その根本から説明させていただきます。
    面倒な方はこの項目の最後の7行を読んでいただければ幸いです
    FFXIVは日/英/仏/独の4言語対応であり、ワールドワイドにサービスを提供させていただいていますが、
    旧FFXIVでは皆さんのプレイデータの保存や、ゲームサーバの運用は日本でのみ行ってきました。
    First, please let me explain why we separated the data centers into two.
    (For those of you not interested, please just read the last 7 lines of this subject)
    FFXIV supports Japanese, English, French, and German language, and servicing worldwide but we have been operating all previous FFXIV player data and game server only through Japan.

    しかし、全世界のネットワークマップを俯瞰して見たとき、日本という場所は、極東に位置するかなり末端に当たり、
    世界各国からアクセスする場合、データは超長距離を移動することになってしまいます。
    世界中を走るネットワーク網は、それぞれ異なる通信業者の通信網をつなぎ合わせて成立しており、
    単純に距離が遠ければ、その分だけ経由する通信業者の数も増え、結果的に通信業者の方針によって、
    データは最短距離を走らないケースが多々あります(隣り合う通信業者同士仲が悪いとかもあるのです……)。
    However, when you look over the entire worlds network map, Japan's location is on the far east, and when accessed from different parts of the world, the data is required to travel a very long distance. The network that runs around the world is connected through different telecommunications industries, and if the distance is far, it passes through that much more industries resulting in where the data doesn't travel through the shortest route possible due to these telecommunication industries rules (there are things like how neighboring industries are not friendly to each other......).

    この通信業者間をデータが移動する際に、データの一部欠損があったり、遅延が発生することこそ、
    パケットロス(通信遅延)の主な原因となります。また、単純に距離が遠ければ、プレイヤーの皆さんのマシンから、
    FFXIVサーバへデータが到達する時間が長くなり、かつ、サーバから皆さんへのマシンへ結果を戻す際にも、
    同じだけの時間がかかってしまいます(しかも行きと帰りでルートが違ったりもします)。
    When data is traveling through these telecommunications industry, there are some parts of data that is lost, or delayed, and reason for packet loss (transmission delay). Also, if the distance is far, it takes longer for data from players machine (PC) to FFXIV's server, at same time, when sending back the result from the server to player's machine (PC) it takes the same amount of time (also there are cases where incoming/outgoing data takes a different route as well).

    単純に言えばプレイヤーの居住地とデータセンターの距離は、近ければ近いほど高速で、快適に遊べる、ということです。
    So simply if the distance between the players residence and data center is closer, you would be able to play that much more comfortably.

    旧FFXIVにも新生FFXIVにも「蛮神イフリート討伐戦」というバトルコンテンツがあります。
    このイフリートは「エラプション」という場所指定の強力な技を使ってプレイヤーを窮地に追い込みますが、
    エラプションは事前にグラフィックス表現により「どの場所に攻撃が発生するか」が見えるように設計されています。
    つまり「見てから避ける」ことが可能なわけです。それがこのコンテンツの面白いところでもあります。
    ところが、通信距離が長い場合この「見てから避ける」が通用しなくなってしまうケースが存在します。
    つまりプレイヤーの画面では避けているのに、サーバ上の処理ではすでに「当ってしまっている」というケースです。
    開発チームは「想定通信速度」を決めてバトルコンテンツを作成していますが、日本と北米/欧州では、
    あまりにもネットワーク通信の距離差が激しすぎ、コンテンツ側だけではカバーできないのが当時の状況でした。
    There is a content in previous FFXIV and FFXIV ARR called Bowl of Embers (Ifrit Battle).
    And this Ifrit uses a strong location based move called "Eruption" to put players in a difficult position, this eruption is structured so you can tell from which location the attack will occur through graphic display before happening. So it's possible to "look and dodge". This is the fun part of this content. However, when the communication distance is far, this "look and dodge" creates a case where this doesn't work accordingly.
    So even if it looks like the player is dodging on their screen, on server side it's already processed as "already being hit by it".
    Development team creates battle contents deciding on ideal communication speed, but between Japan and NA/EU, the distance is too much for network communication, and the situation was where it wasn't possible to cover just from the contents side.

    幸いにもイフリート以降のエンドコンテンツは、旧FFXIVプレイヤーの皆さんに楽しんで頂け、
    新生でもこうしたコンテンツを作成していくにあたり、やはりこの「通信格差」を無くさない限り、
    世界中のお客様に、等しく高品質なサービスを提供できないと判断しました。
    そもそも住んでいる地域で有利/不利の極端に出てしまうゲームをプレイしたい、続けたいとは思わないと考えたのです。
    これが弊社初のチャレンジではありますが、日本以外にもデータセンターを設置し、
    等しくグローバルサービスを提供させていただこうと決断した大きな理由となります。
    今後も新生FFXIVのサービス提供地域が増えた場合、データセンターはさらに増える可能性もあります。
    Luckily post Ifrit end contents, all previous FFXIV players were able to enjoy, and in order for us to make this type of content in ARR, we have decided that we have to get rid of this difference in data communication in order to deliver high quality service to customers around the world.
    We thought people wouldn't want to play, continue a game where depending on where you live being greatly favorable/unfavorable.
    This is our first time challenge for our company, by placing data centers outside of Japan, we have decided to to deliver equal service globally and this is the big reason.
    If when the service region increases at later time in FFXIV ARR, it is possible that we will increase more data centers.

    ■旧FFXIV10ワールドのデータセンター振り分け■

    LEGACYと設定した旧FFXIVの10個のワールドは、今回のご報告にあるとおり、
    日本(JP)と北米/欧州(NA/EU)の二つのデータセンターに振り分けをさせていただきました。
    For the previous FFXIV's 10 worlds setup as LEGACY, as reported this time, we have separated into Japan (JP) and NA/EU (NA/EU)

    この振り分けはそれぞれのワールドに属するすべてのアクティブアカウント/休眠アカウントをそれぞれ計測し、
    みなさんがどの地域からプレイされているか、その人数比率はどのくらいかをきっちりカウントして決めています。
    JPに属することになったLEGACYワールドは、単純に日本人プレイヤーの比率が非常に高かったということです。
    逆にNA/EU側に属することになったLEGACYワールドは、西海岸、東海岸、イギリス、フランス、ドイツの方々が
    多いワールドということになります。
    For this distribution we have calculated the number of active account / inactive accounts for each world and counted and check how much are playing from which region, and what the ration is. For those that was decided as JP LEGACY worlds, basically had higher number of Japanese players. At the same time for those LEGACY WORLDS chosen as NA/EU had more players from west coast, east coast, England, France, and Germany.

    その上で、以下のポイントに気をつけて振り分け数を決めています。
    With that, we made sure to be careful on below points to decide on number to distribute.

    1.同時接続者数5000を上限に1ワールドを構成する
    1. Structure one world with maximum of 5000 simultaneous connections
    新生FFXIVの1ワールド同時接続者数(キャラ数ではないのでお間違えなく)は5000を上限に
    処理計算をおこなっています。新生FFXIVはコンテンツファインダーの実装により、複数のワールドから
    プレイヤーをマッチングし、快適にパーティコンテンツをお楽しみいただく予定ですが、
    それはあくまでもインスタンス化されたコンテンツでのお話です。
    In FFXIV ARR for one world's simultaneous connections process calculation is made with 5000 as maximum (please note this isn't the amount of characters). with FFXIV ARR's content finder implementation, we are planning to have players match through several worlds to enjoy party contents, but that is talking about instanced contents.

    やはりフィールド上をすれ違うプレイヤー数、同ワールド内でのコミュニティ、フリーカンパニーメンバーの数、
    MMOとしての要素を考えると、できるだけ1ワールドには沢山のプレイヤーが存在することが望ましいです。
    ですので今回ワールドを振り分ける際には、集計したそれぞれのリージョンのプレイヤー数が、
    集まっていただきやすいであろう適正数に振り分けた結果となっています。
    ギチギチに詰め込むのではなく、それぞれのワールドにはちゃんとゲタを履かせてありますので、
    その点についても、単純計算はしていませんのでご安心ください。
    When thinking about features of MMO, such as number of players you pass by on the field, the community within the world, number of free company members, it is ideal to have as much players residing in one world.
    2.復帰プレイヤーの予測
    2. Estimating number of returning players
    次にシミュレーションしたのが旧FFXIVのプレイを中断されており、新生のタイミングで、
    「FFXIVに復帰してくださる可能性のあるお客様」の数になります。
    すべてのキャラクターの最終セーブ時間とそのキャラクターの各クラスレベルを調査させていただき、
    「Lv50キャラ所持ナシ」「1クラスLv50」「1クラスLv30以下」「全クラスLv50」など、様々な分類をし、
    恐らく「1クラスのみLv30以下」などの方は、復帰されるにしても復帰先に新規ワールドを選ぶ確率が、
    かなり高いだろうなど、多くの予測を立てました。
    そこでLEGACYワールドへの復帰キャラ見積もりをした上で、その数値を加えても1ワールドの同接数が、
    上限を超えてしまわないかどうかなど、細かくシミュレーションを行いました。
    (ちなみに140万キャラクター以上あります。ニコニコ超会議2で14万と発言していますが桁間違いでした)
    Next we run simulations for those number of players who stopped playing previous FFXIV and those customer that may possibly return at the timing of ARR. We have researched into every characters final save time and individual class levels, and categorized by those "without any Lv50", "1 class with 50", "1 class under 30", "all class with lv50" and such, and we predict that those with "1 class only under lv30", even if they return, the rate that they may start from a new world would be higher..
    So after producing an estimate for returning characters to LEGACY WORLD, we ran detailed simulation to make sure this number doesn't go over the maximum limit value for one world.
    (Also there are over 1.4 million characters. During Nico-nico Chou Kaigi 2 we mentioned 140 thousand but was a digit off)
    3.ワールド統合ではなくワールド分離であること
    3. It's not combing worlds but separating the worlds
    旧FFXIVでは一度ワールドの統合をさせて頂いた経緯があります。
    その際には併合先のワールドと吸収されるワールドの相互関係を作り、他に移動先選択の意思のある方のみ、
    移動をしていただくというフローで統合を行いました。
    ですが今回の場合、1つのインターナショナルワールド(全言語のプレイヤーがいる状態)を
    二つに分離することから、前回と同じ手法を取ることができません。
    よってJPとNA/EUの2分はどうしても避けられないという前提に立つ必要がありました。
    JPとNA/EUのいずれにもミラーワールドを設置するという案も検討しましたが、
    前述したようにワールド内の同接人口が少なくなってしまうことや、更なる再統合の可能性発生、
    物理的距離の遠いデータセンター同士、効率よくサーバハードウェアが運用できないなど、
    リスクが高すぎ、皆さんにも負担を強いることになるため、取りやめとしました。
    In previous FFXIV we have gone through combining worlds.
    At that time, we made a relation between the world that is being transferred to and the world that was absorbed, and followed up on those who wished to move to a different world. However this time, by separating this one international world (the situation with players speaking every language) we cannot go through the same step as last time.
    As a premise we needed to separate JP and NA/EU.
    We have also looked into placing mirror worlds for both JP and NA/EU but as mentioned earlier that will result in lower simultaneous connections and cause possibility of going through another merge, and due to how the data centers physical location being different it will make the operation of the server inefficient.
    4.各地域からのデータ通信速度計測とプレイ地域
    4. Estimating data communication speed from individual region and play region
    今回データセンターをJPとNA/EUに分離し、特にNA/EUのデータセンター設置場所については、
    世界中の多くの場所からデータ速度をテストして、慎重に決めさせていただいています。
    特にEU圏はEUとひとつに括るのが失礼なくらい、多くの国が存在します。
    イギリス、フランス、ドイツだけでもインフラ事情は異なりますので、各地域からデータセンターへの速度を計測し、
    十分なサービスが提供できる保障の上に、データセンターを建設しています。
    ですのでどうぞEU地域の皆さんは、ご安心いただければと思います。
    This time, we have separated the data centers by JP and NA/EU, and specially regarding the location where the NA/EU data center is placed has been carefully selected by testing the data speed from around the world.
    Specially for the EU region, there are many countries in EU (reworded). Infrastructure varies even with England, France, and Germany alone, so we have measured/calculated the speed from individual region to the data center, and we're making sure we can guarantee and provide enough service when building the data center. So for everyone in the EU region, please do not worry.

    また、公表こそしていませんが、FFXIVは4言語対応といいつつ、実に多くの国からプレイして頂いています。
    スペイン語圏、ポルトガル語圏、カナダ、オーストラリア、シンガポール、インド、アラブ諸国……
    こうしたプレイヤーの皆さんも、今回のデータセンター設置によってプレイの選択肢が広がります。
    Also, we haven't made any official announcement but, although we say FFXIV supports 4 languages, in reality there are players playing from many other countries. Spanish language region, Portugal language region, Canada, Australia, Singapore, India, Arab world... we have these players as well, and with this times data center placement it increases the range they can choose to play in.

    こうした国の皆さんも今回のデータセンターへの振り分け時に、しっかり考慮させていただきました。
    また、多くの国の皆さんが、今回のワールド移動でプレイの快適なデータセンターを選べることも、
    とても重要な1要因と考えました。
    We have also made sure these players from other countries are referenced when distributing to the data centers. Also we made sure this is one of the major points where players from around the world can choose the data center that is best for playing.

    ■積極的なアナウンスと検討時間の準備■

    既にモルボルからの投稿にもありますように、βテストフェーズ3から旧FFXIVアカウントをお持ちの方すべてが、
    新生FFXIVのβテストにご参加いただけるようになります。
    また同時に、そのアナウンスと今回のワールド選択について、しっかり個別メールにて全通知させていただきます。
    LEGACYワールドがオープンとなり、旧FFXIVのキャラクターをプレイした場合、
    みなさんは、ちょっとした特別なオープニングと共に最終セーブ状態からFFXIVが再開されます。
    LSはそのまま、フレンドリストも未承認でそのまま、コミュニケーションがとって頂けるよう配慮させていただきました。
    As Molbol's (Foxclon) post, starting beta test phase 3 all previous FFXIV account holders can participate in FFXIV ARR. At the same time, we will make sure to announce through individual mail with this announcement and this times world selection. LEGACY worlds will be opening, and when you play with your previous FFXIV characters, for those of you, you will start with a little bit special opening along with starting with status when it was saved last. LS will remain, friend list will remain unconfirmed, so we made sure you all can make communication.

    また、どのリージョンのプレイヤーも、新規キャラクターをそれぞれのデータセンターのワールドに作成して頂ければ、
    JPのデータセンターとNA/EUのデータセンターの体感通信速度差をβテストフェーズ3中にお試し頂けることになります。
    Also, for any region player, if you create a new character in individual data center worlds, you will be able to try out and check the difference in communication speed between JP and NA/EU data centers during beta test phase 3.

    もちろん、移動を余儀なくされるプレイヤーの皆さんには、多大なストレスをおかけしていることを認識しており、
    心より申し訳なく思っています。その分だけ、それぞれのコミュニティ内で、移動先の検討をしていただけるよう、
    できるだけアナウンスや告知などで、このワールド選択をお知らせさせていただき、
    βテストフェーズ3中のインゲームやThe Lodestone上で、協議していただける環境づくりはするつもりです。
    Of course, for those players that are being forced to move, we understand that this is causing a major stress, and I apologize from my heart. So we really would like for each community to talk to each other and decide which world to move to, we'll make announcements for this world selection, and would like to make an environment where people can do so in-game during beta test phase 3 or from The Lodestone.

    ですが、今回の方法は持てるデータのすべてを使ったシミュレーション、協議時間、施策、アナウンスなど、
    じっくり時間をかけて精査してきた結果です。
    I understand your concerns and frustration with this times world transfer selection.
    However, this is the result from carefully taking time for the simulations we ran with every data possible, many hours spent on meetings, structuring, and announcements.

    このNA/EUデータセンター設置は弊社にとっても、非常に大きなチャレンジです。
    ですがこれにより、世界中でひとりでも多くの方に新生FFXIVをプレイしていただけるようになれば、
    結果的にプレイヤー数が増加し、いただいた収益で更に大規模なアップデートや、迅速なパッチリリースが可能になります。

    Even for our own company this data center placement for NA/EU is a huge challenge.
