Not liking the "One time only" achievement part...

Yep JP side also saying that, I get the 7th Umbral Era and stuff since it's something only current FFXIV players can experience before 2.0 but for one time only seasonal events dunno if I like it. Was thinking this achievement system was something they putting in to work for the PS3 trophy system but if there are one time only achievements you wont be able to get 100% trophy and reason why I was OK with 7th Umbral Era event since it's before PS3 so was thinking that event wont count in PS3 trophy system. (maybe has nothing related to trophy system in first place...)

If you miss when the achievement was active, you have no way of ever getting it. Like the Umbral event that happens before 2.0 goes live.

Yep. Seems like something that should be limited to the history page, not an actual achievement.

Speaking of achievements, did they say if they'll describe hot to earn the achievement to? Sorta like how Steam does?

Nope I think those will be mentioned once they mention through The Lodestone topics.

Well thats stupid, I would have expected them to reuse the seasonal event stuff, they could at least reuse the name of the achievement, so it doesn't matter when you did it you would get the same achievement even if the event was slightly different.

They may as well get rid of the history as nobody will care about that stuff anymore. (It's even more stupid the two aren't one and the same)

I don't mind one time only achievements. People wanted special stuff for playing before 2.0 and you'll get it in that form. If it's not anything extremely substantial, ie: only a cosmetic piece of gear or something, it would be great. It's nice that they aren't planning to simply repeat seasonal events every year, from what it sounds like.

I'm fine with the "One-Time Only" achievements, but I wish they would abolish the Lodestone History. It will only serve as a reminder of all the things we were not able to complete before they were torn out of the game.. So glad they won't be achievements, I'd have to quit(OCD thing) ..

I missed the boat on Achievements. That is, I don't really care about them. Same with Xbox Achievements. Never understood why people work on them. To me, I just want to have fun doing things, if I get an Achievement on the way, great. Maybe I will grow to like them...
