


It's pretty obvious, there is no gate stopping you getting in and no load between going from one side of the gate to the other.
It's the same deal with the lift to the airship dock, I hope in 2.0 they at least have uldah and limsa airship dock like Gridania's.
It was not obvious at all from the way you formulated your post. The problem is not the NPC positioning, but the way the game handles teleports. We can only hope the new engine will be able to move a character from one point of a map to another without requiring a complete reload. Or they could just make the gate open, which they don't for some obscure reason.
Anyway, let's stop discussing it here before the "don't post here"-army makes their appearance again.

Except that it's the same area since you can see players beyond the gate and in any normal game with a normal engine you just add a player to the list of players to be transported instead of defining a set area from where players are teleported away. But it's SE we're talking about here, they have to do everything in the most convoluted way possible just for the sake of being different. Which is, as I said, obscure.
