JP thread titled when starting a new character just start with 200M gil to make it easier for new players... I say it's a troll thread to get people posting and fighting... but Rep responded to this one so here goes..

Started this thread because it would allow players to enjoy the game starting and buying new gear or materials to try crafting.
パッチ1.19より3都市の冒険者ギルドやマーケットの一部ストリートに、
初心者プレイヤーの装備を安く販売してくれるNPCの配置しています。
これは、初心者の方が装備をすぐに購入できるようにするためです。
In patch 1.19 we added NPC's that sells new players equipments in adventure guild or in markets. This was done to make it possible for new players to buy equipment right away.

そのうえで、購入するギルがなかなか貯まらないので買うことができない！ということであれば、
クエストやギルドリーヴなどの取得ギル額を増やすのではなく、
上記アイテムを販売してくれるNPCの販売価格を緩和する調整を検討していきます。
If with that it's still hard to buy because you can't obtain gil, instead of increasing the quest/guild leve rewards we will look into adjusting the price of equipment sold by the NPC.
