Ehh you can test this is if it's same as FFXI - it was 2 STR = 1 Attack, for FFXIV they might give out that info since YoshiP wants to have all information laid out for new MMORPG players but imo that was one of the fun parts to discover these stuff... either way they might give the info for the players. We'll see.
It is not the same STR does not affect attack, so I think people would like to know how the damage formula works. Where does STR (or attack for that matter) play into the formula?Ehh you can test this is if it's same as FFXI - it was 2 STR = 1 Attack, for FFXIV they might give out that info since YoshiP wants to have all information laid out for new MMORPG players but imo that was one of the fun parts to discover these stuff... either way they might give the info for the players. From his interviews this was the kind of thing he wanted to be open about because players simply can't "figure it out" without extensive parsing with different setups (Which SE doesn't even approve of anyways). People are spending money on materia and stuff, I think they should at least get a hint at what these stats do so they can prioritize better.
STR does help atk it does not boost your max atk but helps your low end atk.
Example: You are hitting ifrit for 20-50 dmg more str will make it so you do 40-50 thus increasing your overall atk
You are talking about damage not attack, I was responding to Reinhart's comparison to XI. STR does not = a certain amount of attack they come into play at different points in the damage calculation. Without parsing nothing you just said can be backed up, so it would be nice for SE to weigh in a bit and give us a hint.
Someone already did a test on this in another thread and increasing your low end atk is in fact raising atk.....You are talking about damage not attack, I was responding to Reinhart's comparison to XI. Attack power is a stat.
Damage is... well how much damage you do.
They are different things...
edit: never mind obviously there is an issue with English not being your first language so you are not understanding me...
