Wow chocobo, since the wait there are lots of players thoughts ^^;
Before patch 1.18 Yoshida posted regarding chocbo, and Gacchi-san put it in this thread so please look there. (I think I translated that one, Bay also did after with official one)

成長については過去のポストにあるように、当然検討はしていますが、
実装はもう少し先のことになってしまいます。
マイチョコボ装備の一部切り替えは1.20で、幾つか対応予定です
Regarding the growth like posted previously, it's being looked into but the release will be little bit longer, for My chocobo equipment first section is planned to be in 1.20

改めて最終仕様はリリース前にしっかり公開しますが、
一部先行しますと…
Will announce this officially before the actual release but giving some info ahead of time:

・レンタルチョコボはギルでレンタル。価格はかなり安くランク20くらいまでで手軽に使える想定。
Rental Chocobo is gil rental, price will be cheap and amount till Rank 20 can use.
・レンタルチョコボは騎乗可能時間が有限なので低ランクの移動補助に
Rental Chocobo has a time limit so for low rank to help travel
・マイチョコボはリキャストタイマー無し（即再呼び出し可能。ただし敵視されている場合不可）
My Chocobo will not have a recast timer (can be called right away, but can't if being targeted by a monster)
・マイチョコボは騎乗制限時間無し（好きなだけ乗っていられます）
My Chocobo has no time limit (can be ridden as much as you want)
・いずれのチョコボも騎乗中には敵のセンスに引っ掛かります
Either chocobo will be caught by enemies sense
・チョコボ騎乗中に「大きなダメージ」を受けるとチョコボから落下してしまいます
If you take a "big damage" while riding, you will fall off
・騎乗中の速度はまだ調整中（プレイヤー種族による速度差はナシ）
Speed while riding is still being adjusted (no change in speed from different race)
・チョコボはプレイヤーの種族に合わせて最適なサイズのチョコボが貰えます（後の騎乗戦を想定して）
Depending on the players race the chocobo's size met for the race's size will be given (thinking of later battle while riding)
・レンタルとマイチョコボで見た目がちょっと違います（BGMも違う予定…）
Rental and My Chocobo has different looks (Planning different BGM...)

くらいでしょうか。今後のマウントシステム全体の根幹になるので、
マイチョコボにリキャストや騎乗タイマー関連はつけていません。
でも、自分より強いモンスターには絡まれます。
That's about it. For future mount system this is the root so for my chocobo there is no recast or riding timer. But will be agroed by monster stronger than you.
