Reboot-Reboot-Reboot started a thread asking why FFXIV doesn't use the classing finger cursor in the UI along with classic FF menu sound effects.

Hello,

FFシリーズでおなじみの☞ カーソルの採用と操作音SEの変更の件について、皆川と話をしてきました。
Talked to Minakawa regarding changing to FF series finger cursor and sound effects.

現在のカーソルをすべて☞ カーソルにすること自体はすぐにでも対応は可能ではあるのですが、SEの変更を行うにはそれなりの時間がかかります。カーソルとSEの変更はセットで行なうべきと考えているため、直近での変更は考えていません。
Making all the cursor into the finger cursor is possible and can be done right away but for the sound effects it will require some time. Believe the cursor and sound effect should be done together as a set therefore not planning for changes right away.

ただし、現在UIすべてを作りかえる改修を進めており、その改修の際に☞ カーソルへの変更、カーソル自体のカスタマイズ機能の実装、SEの変更を行う予定となっています。
But we are currently working on all UI changes right now, and with those changes planning to be able to change the cursor to the finger cursor, and feature to customize the cursor itself and change sound effect.

窓を閉じるのに、右上の「×」だったり閉じる？キャンセル？ボタンだったりと、統一性がないのがなんとも・・・
Closing the window, pressing the [x] on the top right, close? cancel? buttons it's not unified (all different)

についても同じタイミングで変更する予定です。

（ところで「☞」は環境によっては文字化けするケースもあるかもですが、指の形をしたカーソルのことです）
(the finger cursor (font/text) will have display problems so FYI it means finger shaped cursor) (I think he put this since the font/text for the finger shape might not display on some PC's)
