Well since it takes you up to near-perfect durability, and it's a lot cheaper now, more people that relied on player repairs would opt to use it more often (myself included).

I really didn't mind the current repair system except for one thing. As a crafter you can let your gear go red because it didn't affect the +stats like control, craftsmanship, etc. This way people will have to repair gear.
As far as the prices are concern I have been paying 1k over dark matter and have been fine with it. I'm worried that the 1500 gil difference for grade 5 (5000-3500) is negligible and people will just use the repair which will alienate the crafters. Althought i'm not a crafter I don't want anyone left out.
Reinhart, why couldn't you be on Wutai :c
All I can give you is an internet high-fave (low-five, lalafel) and the appreciation of a humble Red Wizard!
I thank you, rainbow-colored subligar man, and you incredible powers of translation!
*sigh* I don't like the 99% thing one bit. It's less money you need, way too much ways to get your stuff repaired and from 1-100% you won't even feel a difference, turning dying (which should usually be avoided) into something that's not even a minor annoyance anymore. I thought the current system was good.
Oh well. I'll get used to it.![]()

Thanks for the translations Reinheart ^.^
Really appreciate the great work you do for all of us![]()
They may as well get rid of the repair system entirely if they're going to do this. It's like they're trying to make it irrelevant without getting rid of it.

As someone who hates the current repair system I feel like I can live with the changes outlined in that post. IMO dying is a penalty enough because you didn't accomplish whatever you were trying to, but those changes will make it just a slap in the hands and I am willing to compromise to the point where I don't have to teleport to town and wait until I get repaired.
Bottomline: Don't rock the boat please!![]()

Personally, I am SUPER excited about the repair changes. No longer will I have to wait around town or AFK trying to get my stuff repaired by crafters, yay! Did crafters really enjoy repairing THAT much? o.O You definitely aren't doing it for the money (as a lot of people simply offer the dark matter), and as someone who has repaired quite a few low level things for friends, it isn't a fun activity. In fact, it's annoying because you have to switch classes and mess with all the clunky menus (and it makes my 10 minute cooldown reset which is annoying if I'm repairing while doing leves with someone).
Now, you'll only need a crafter to repair if you want to save a little money or plan on selling the item (need 100% to sell or trade).
Hmmm ... don't want to read too much into this, but are they talking of adding G6 dark matter for r50+ equipment in 1.20 ? Hint to cap increase within next 6 months ?
