    The gender swap/underwear issue could be solved very easily. Make all underwear items for all genders, just as they plan to make them for all races, with (obviously) the displayed model being different depending on the character's race and gender.

    Or, if for some weird reason that's not possible, just force the underwear to be unequipped on a character whose gender was changed, and put in an NPC that lets you trade underwear for that of the opposite gender. I'm sure the writers and artists would have fun designing an NPC that specializes in that sort of thing. They could have the NPC sell knee-high socks, too.

    The recipes which are utilize materials obtainable through seasonal event will be gone but for items such as dream hat material we plan on making it possible to trade to the NPC to receive the finished item.

    HQ確率は現行版でも百分率で表示されています。これは新生版でも変更なく、百分率で表示されます。
    HQ rate is being displayed as % right now and will not change in ARR.

    新生版では、製作関連のステータスが整理されますので、現状よりも各ステータスの効果がわかりやすくなる見込みです。
    In ARR each status will be sorted out and also we are planning to make individual status easier to understand than current.

    OK could you please explain about the menu social, contents, and live? For the first two we could probably guess from the name.

     「ソーシャル」はフレンドやリンクシェル,フリーカンパニーなどのコミュニティ関連です。「コンテンツ」は「コンテンツファインダー」の呼び出しと,コンテンツごとのリワード(報酬)再取得までの期限の確認などができます。
    Y: For Social it's community related stuff such as friend, linkshell or free company. For Contents when you call up the contents finder you check the time remaining to reobtain rewards for each contents.

    吉田氏:
     今回,新生FFXIVでは,ボスモンスターのレアアイテムドロップを確率で縛りつけるのではなく,ボスを倒せれば必ずなんらかの報酬が得られるようになっています。
     レアドロップも,1パーティに対して2~3個はドロップするので,それをパーティ内で抽選していただきます。その代わり,その抽選に参加する権利がコンテンツによって週3回まで,のように決まっています。そのリセットタイマーが各コンテンツに用意されるので,それの確認などですね。
     もちろん,抽選に漏れた人にはトークン(チケットのようなもの)が渡され,トークンを貯めて交換できるアイテムもあるので,結果に対して必ず成果があるようになっています。
    Y: This time in ARR FFXIV instead of having percentage drop on boss monster, we have it made so when you defeat the boss monster you will get some type of reward. Even for rare drop for each party there will be 2-3 item drops, so would like to have that go through lottery within party. But to participate in that lottery it is set for each contents to 3 times per week.
    For that we have reset timer available for each contents so it's to check on those status. Of course for those that didn't make the lottery will get a token (something like a ticket) and by collecting the token there are items you can trade for so it's made so that there is some type of result.


    4Gamer:
     確実に2~3人はレアアイテムが手に入り,ほかの人にもちゃんと報酬が用意されていると。
    So there are rare items for sure for 2-3 people and for others you have other rewards prepared.

     レアアイテムに関しては,運が悪いとなかなか自分に権利が回ってこないかもしれませんが,それでも週3回や4回はチャレンジできますし,それで手に入らなければ,再取得まで別のコンテンツへという形になると思います。このあたりは,実際にプレイしていただかないと,感覚としてはお伝えしにくいかもしれませんね。
    For rare items if you have bad luck that privileged may not come around to you but you can challenge 3-4 times a week and if you still don't get it you can try other contents until you can try to reobtain. For this part it may be hard to understand till you actually play and try it out.
    4Gamer:
     新生FFXIVでは,クエストをクリアしていくと経験値が入る,いわゆるクエスト主体で進んでいくようになるそうですね。
    It seems like in ARR FFXIV you clear quests to obtain exp. It's like those where the quest is the main to proceed right?

    吉田氏:
     そうです。序盤から,どんどんクエストで引っ張っていきます。逆にフィールドにいるモンスターを倒しても,経験値はそれほど獲得できません。
    Y: Yes, from beginning we will pull the character with quests. You wont obtain much EXP by defeating the monsters in field.

    皆川氏:
     開発チームでも,実装されているクエストがなくなったタイミングで,「レベルが上がらない!」という悲鳴が上がります(笑)。クエスト担当者が「今クエスト追加してるから,数日待って!」と返答があると「じゃあ,クエスト入るまで待ちます!」って。
    M: Even from the dev team side we heard cries where they were saying "Can't level up!" after they completed the released quests (laugh) then the person in charge of the quest says "We're adding more quests so wait few more days!" then the other guys go "Alright will wait till when the quest is added!"

    吉田氏:
     開発のみんなも現行バージョンでは,あんなにモンスターキャンプに行ってたのに(笑)。でも,そう思うくらいに経験値の獲得方法やゲームの導線,スタイルが現行バージョンから変わっているんですね。
    Y: Everyone from the dev team were all going to monster camps in current version (laugh) but that's how much it has changed from the current version to how you obtain the EXP or the game style.

    4Gamer:
     思っている以上に,クエストの比重が高くなっていると。そうすると,クエストへの導線は重要になりますね。
    So the importance of quest is really high.

    吉田氏:
     とくに序盤は一つ一つ丁寧に導線を作っています。やはりMMORPG経験者にとって当たり前のことでも,コンシューマゲームから入ってきたプレイヤーさんには,初めてのことばかりですから。
    Y: Specially for the starting we will make sure each are connected. For MMORPG experience players this is common stuff but for players used to only consumer games it's something new.

    4Gamer:
     ところで,たびたびお話に出てきた,PC版のαテストですが,これはいつ頃実施されるのでしょうか。
    Could you please explain when the PC version alpha test will start?

    吉田氏:
     いまのところ,2012年10月末に実施できる見込みです。ちょっとだけ心配なのは,皆さんの期待が高まりすぎていることですね(笑)。αテストは“あくまでもサーバーの負荷試験”なので,お手柔らかにと。
    Y: For now we are aiming for release towards end of October. Right now I'm worried about how much everyone's expectation is so high (laugh) alpha test is basically server load test so please be gentle

    4Gamer:
     どうしてもプレイヤーとしては,新生FFXIVになってどう変わったのか,そのクオリティに目がいってしまいますよね。
    For players they all want to know how ARR FFXIV changed and see the quality.

    吉田氏:
     クオリティという言葉も,プレイヤーそれぞれに定義が違っていて,グラフィックスの仕上がりを見たい方もいれば,UIを見たい,ゲームデザイン上の導線の流れを見たいという方もいます。
     そこで今回は,サーバー負荷試験ではあるけれども,新生FFXIVの基礎部分まではチェックしていただくつもりでいないとダメだという話を開発チームにしています。
     コンテンツに関しては,βテスト以降の実装をあらためてアナウンスしますので,今回はサーバーレスポンスや,フィールドが切り替わったときのローディングのスピードなどにはかなりこだわったので,注目していただきたいですね。
    Y: Quality can mean different things, it could be the quality of how the graphics finished, quality of UI, quality of the game design and the flow. So this time although it's mainly for server load test I have instructed the dev team to make sure to check the base section of ARR FFXIV.
    For the contents we will announce post beta test release so for now please pay attention to the server response time or the loading speed when field changes.
