JP side got a thread that's getting lots of attention right now after YoshiP's last producer letter regarding the "Yukata"

Many on the forums don't like the Yukata design that was shown in it saying it's too short!! and stuff like that's Happi not Yukata!

I personally don't mind the design but I do see where they are coming from.

Anyways YoshiP jumped in the flames to post the following to try and cool down the JP community.　(Worked on some.... thread is still going though lol)

Honestly I think this definitely shows the immature side of the community. Someone makes nice yukatas that you are not forced to obtain, and people make an uproar just because it is short. I appreciate the fact they give us seasonal events with the budget they have for 1.xx, and I will wear my yukata proudly. I think they look really cool Yoshida, don't let idiots make you feel bad.

Well to some of the JP community when they heard Yukata they were expecting traditional Yukata's and didn't think it was the newer gal fashion ones so that part like I said I understand where they are coming from but yeah lots of the posts on their is just repeat. One other suggestion I kind of agree is probably having the name changed from Yukata to Happi but then again the new fashion Yukata's are just like those in the image... so they are considered Yukata also?? that part I have to look up what's the difference between Yukata and Happi. I think Happi was made of one cloth while Yukata's require several layers of clothes... or something like that...

Yep it was Yukata in FFXI also and 2CH and other forums (since official forums didn't exist that time) did talk about same stuff saying it's giving wrong image to foreign players and those aren't Yukata's.... for me... I didn't care... I like it lol

To be fair, that's like being promised you'll be receiving a chainmail item and getting a crop-top instead.

Also to be fair, they did have specific styles of chainmail suited for smaller framed women and as they got more efficient designing armor the chainmail became "lighter" in design.

There's always been multiple styles of Yukata, it would be more of a problem if SE stated we'd get traditional Yukata, but they mostly said we'll just get yukatas this time around, the JP probably auto assumed traditional, but SE is trying to keep up with the times xD.

Funny thing is, as a former FFXI player, I was actually expecting the short yukatas, not the long ones. The yukatas are here because last year it was a huge request by us. I feel more obligated to say "Thank you for listening." than "This isn't what I wanted!".

oh my god i want that kamen rider hibiki mask from the pic lol
all this complaining is kinda getting old, a long yukata would look terrible with our running and walking animation anyway, it would either glich or stretch the fabric unnaturally

For those of you wanting to switch genders in 2.0
I say it should be safe to switch... pretty sure they will have something planned out by the time 2.0 is out but anyways...

現在実装されている水着は男性専用女性専用となっていますが、新生時に女性→男性または男性→女性と、性別変更を伴う種族変更をした場合、昨年のボンバードの時に取得した性別専用水着は、取得したときの性別のもののままになるのでしょうか？
またその場合、再度取得できるようなイベントが新生以降予定されていたりしますでしょうか？
Current swimsuit wear is specific for male or female but in 2.0 if you switch gender from Female > Male or Male > Female would the gender specific gear remain the same as when you obtained? If so are there any plans to have an event where you can obtain it again?

確かにそうですね。性別や種族を変更した場合、下着や浴衣など装備できなくなるものが存在します。
まだ詳細は決まっていないのですが、何らかのカタチで対応できないか検討していきます。
You are right. When you switch the race or gender there will be items like underwear or Yukata which you can't equip. We haven't decided on the specifics yet but we are looking into somehow address this issue.
