Both I'd say. They have abilities that revolve around them dodging attacks which isn't going to occur frequently, if at all, if they're not the main target of an enemy's attacks. On the same end they have abilities which don't have said requirements so they can also DPS.
You could say the same about Gladiator and Marauder although it's probably a little more obvious that they were designed to be tanks. The HP nerf on Pugilist doesn't fall in line with the other two classes is what is a little confusing.
I could deal with the HP - Materia fixes that somewhat. Can't deal with the fact that PUG doesn't put out enough DPS or hate to overcome either the DD's or the other tanks, so has no access to their most powerful attacks, so they can't do enough damage to compete.... This just sorta leaves them hanging in the middle.Both I'd say. Could easily be solved by giving pug (monk?) enfeebling or stat-lowering attacks to a greater degree. Like Victimize, but more so. Give me a poison fist or knockout punch and I'd be happy.
Oh man he said "traits list" thats one thing ff11 had that this game does not. Good auto traits that made the class/jobs different/unquie. War got double attack, SMN got auto refresh, NIN got duel wield. etc. Giving auto traits should make this game much better i can not wait for them.

The confusing part is the way the map is laid out. Most NA people read left to right, and the first thing they see on the map is the vertical coordinates. Leading to confusion errors. When using <pos>, the coordinates are Horizonatal: Vertical, as per normal maps.
