What I wanna know is if we can choose to stay that job and still gain exp. Say reach level 30 with Gladiator -> unlock Knight/Paladin which shares the main class level, could you still gain exp while you have that job set?

The translation implies this exact feature of shared EXP between a class and its job.

Even if you play Knight/Paladin the EXP is shared so EXp goes into Gladiator class. Level 30 Gladiator = Level 30 Knight/Paladin

Based on the translation rein just posted any exp you gain while on a job goes to the class it is unlocked from.

'First time' maybe, but i personally ran sky about 100 times in Xi and never tired of it.
Also, i really think it's a bit blown out of proportion.
Only maybe a dozen or two players across all servers have all battle classes at 50.
Most of us have a few low level battle classes to level and enjoy low level content.
Plus, new content of any level will be added as well.

Oh cool, in that case i'm sure i'll stick to knight...undecided on whether I want my second "career" job to be Warrior/Berserker/Viking, or Monk. Still holding out hope for 2h swords to be introduced for existing classes or a new class.

Always wanted to be a hand to hand class, but I cant pull myself away from bladed weapons.
