    Petition to add more 2-3 man content

    Hi.

    I was just wondering if it's possible to add content that allows 2-3 people to group together and form a team that can accomplish goals. It seems that everything revolves around the 4/8 man party style.

    I was thinking more FFXI style content such as a Thief / Red Mage combo that can take down a lot of content on their own, but would need very specific gear.

    I feel that this is missing from FFXIV (along with NM hunts).

    The only thing I can do on my own seems to be Beastmen daily quests or crafting. But one can only do this so much.

    I'd really love to gain my love for the game again, but forcing me to group with 3 other people to advance in the game (Mythology/Philo Stones) seems prohibitive.

    Are there plans to add 2-3 player content anytime soon?

    What role are you trying to play in which 2/3 man content would even be viable?

    The trinity: Tank/Healer/DPS..... okay so lets take 3 man content for example.... you would still need one of each correct?

    Soooooo... the biggest problem with the party set up the way it is now, is the fact that queues take forever especially if you are a DPS..

    Would they be any less if we cut the DPS number in half? no they would be longer, and you would still need to find a tank for the content and so on.

    This sounds like a complete waste of resources. SE should focus on more tank classes to balance out the population, and keep all current content viable. Not creating more tedious queued content

    I don't think more tank classes will really solve the issues. Right now tanking is just not that involved and people who usually play DPS don't find it as fun to play. So if you add more tanking classes you are just going to get the same tank players playing the new tank class. What needs to happen is tanking needs to become more fun and there needs to be a reason for high level tanks to do low level content. Duty Roulette was a great start but the rewards are meager at best, extra GC seals, not really an incentive right now. If they unlock the GC rank restrictions and introduce a new reason to get seals and add additional bonuses (not just a mount) you might get some more tanks running low level content. Right now I run low level Tam-Tara to get diremite webs but that is only because I am leveling weaver. As it stands the only other real reason to run them is to help people out and maybe as a reward get a commendation.

    I might get some hate for this, but I think they should add Single player version of the dungeons. With this you could train a player on how the dungeon looks and what to expect. Either make the mobs a little easier for one person, or give the player NPCs to fill out a party, like in class quests. This will also give you an option for just waiting for all the spots to be filled like it is currently. Since you're on your own, there is no wait time, but probably the items acquired inside won't be as good as when you join with actual players or the same, but just harder to obtain. That way, there is an incentive to join other players.

    About the tank thing, I think adding tank jobs can only do good, especially if they put a really useful ability at lv50 which everyone wants to have. It can't be that hard to make a really fun tank job that a lot of people enjoy.

    as long as it requires u to have a class from each tank,healer,dps, I think its cool. It's really not good when content becomes clearable without it.

    I can't remember where I read this, but I recall seeing something about there being "solo content" for you and chocobo... I'm super looking forward to this.

    I would love to spend more time in this game. I have been a long time fan of the FF games. Eorzea is beautiful...

    But I am also a solo player. My FC is very, very quiet. There's a group that raids, but I can't join them (shift work). I'm in a very large linkshell, but even they are mostly only looking for coil runs. I haven't even ever stepped foot inside coil yet.

    I usually try to run the daily roulettes on my days off. I thought maybe I would just be a DF healer, but it seems things like Titan HM, Ultima HM, every extreme primal and Pharos Sirius is too challenging for strangers. It'd be nice is SE wouold take a page from Warcraft's book and tune the DF content down (or give DF people the echo buff or something) to give us a chance. And before anyone flames me to go back to Warcraft, I left it for a reason, it's boring as fck.

    Currently, I am just very slowly grinding out crafts leveling, class leveling, DF roulettes and CT. Granted, this fills my time up, but it does get pretty tedious and boring. It'd be nice to have something I could explore on my own.

    Realistically, 2-3 man content wouldn't be practical or feasible at least until some hybrid classes exist. Not to mention they would make regular light party dungeons obsolete, that is if they yielded equivalent rewards.

    Still, not a bad idea though.

    i think we rather need 6-man content again to balance out the issues with queuetimes.

    The fact that you need 1 tank and 1 healer to get 2 dps through a dungeon is bad. There just are not enough Tanks or healers q-ing for them.
    If you had even 5 or 6 men dungeons you would be much better off.

    2-3 player content would, if implemented, definitely need the option to go as 2-3 dps or 2 dps + 1 healer without a tank.
    If not i guess the q-times will be even longer for dps rendering that content obsolete.
