Minion Battles!!

there are so many minions that eventually they'll have to be put to use. not just follow you around but they should make it to where you can challenge other players to minion battles. kinda like a pokemon battle but y'know FFXIV style. if they did do this how do you think it would work? customization, training your minion?
maybe they would have preset moves?
which minion do you like and how would you use them if there were some type of use for them.

If it's FFXIV style, they'd probably open up the Wolves' Den arena to minion/companion fights like this. Since minions are just meant to be fluff, I think it would be better/more thrilling to see the minions use abilities at random during the fight. Keeps people from coming up with "the perfect strategy" to use on people who don't know it.

I remember once, along my journey's in FFXIV I recall seeing a bunch of npc's crowded around two crabs, and they were battling out to the death. xD

Right, because pet battle is such a unique feature that definitely doesn't exist across hundreds of games besides WoW. While we're at it, let's sue everyone for the copying of slaying animals as a newbie. Oh, the idea was giving out quests is also directly copied, let's sue for that too. Don't stop there, that strand of grass looks exactly the same.

why all the hate for a general statement se has already made statements on pet battles in the past in interviews mentioning they have road blocks they have to overcome before even putting in a system like this please dont hate on someone for posting somthing that was already mentioned in the past

I think this would be a very cool feature, you could perhaps have a card battling system, perhaps like Pokemon or whatever they have in WoW (never really seen more than 2 mins of footage of that game, don't have any interest in it).

I am willing to bet that what khmfdoom mentioned about the legality of using a similar feature from WoW might cause problems (you'd be surprised what small things people try to copyright), I am certain as long as they made a different type of system they could find a way round this, which is what he was getting at?

If you click on the above link you'll get a further understanding of copyrights and trademarks, they can cover so many small things that you wouldn't think of it's unreal.

They might not be able to copyright the general feature of minion battles, but their particular design of how it works, however complex or simple the changes need to be to allow them to avoid being sued might mean the mini-game is either very close or extremely different.

Who knows until they actually try to act on the idea?

This is exactly what i was getting at i didn't think i would have to clearly layout all the small things. That can be the road blocks that cause certain features from being in certain games being called an idiot for this statement clearly shows people have word vomit and don't think before they speak.
