Dumbest Vote Kick Abuse

I actually saw something like this (ish) happen last night in CT. Two healers, both after the same piece of loot. One said she was passing on the gloves in case the chest dropped, the other said they were after the chest as well.

The chest dropped, both people needed on it. Healer A starts yelling at Healer B about how this is the last piece she needs before she can stop doing CT, and her friend joined in, trying to encourage Healer B to pass. Of course Healer B didn't, and he won, so Healer A left and Healer A's friend started yelling at Healer B.

Why do people expect someone else to pass so they can have loot, when they don't even know each other?

I do laugh at the stupidity of kicking someone who already got their loot for the week, when obviously you could no longer roll against them. xD

Eh, I got kick from a CT run for calling out a SCH that was using a Lv5 book. Turned out that it was a premade FC group and my vote to kick was offensive. CT is a breeding ground for stupid. Wouldn't be surprised in the least if that group kicked so you 'couldn't lot any more tank stuff' lol.

You should have apologized for not bringing up the "lotting rules" after you've joined. Especially if you know you are going to eventually need on something. Boot was well deserved and I hope you've learnt from your mistakes. Next time, don't abuse the "need-greed-pass" system and communicate with other players. This is a social MMO after all, you are not supposed to play it as a single player game. Also, making a thread because you got kicked from a party speaks for itself. So yeah...

This is possible. It's somewhat rude to just boot the guy without saying why, though. I think most players would be fine with leaving the run once they've gotten their drop, so there's really no harm in talking to them about it first.

Only that once you get a lot, you can't lot again for the rest of the week. If the booted you, it was probably for some other reason.

Going to play devil's advocate a bit and say it could have not been about the gear at all. You did say it was right after the boss. That fc might not have thought you were pulling your weight. I'm surprised no one else has said this given what you posted. You don't really know why they kicked you.

The run started out shaky, and I don't claim to be a great tank, but I wasn't at the level of bad to get booted for it, and I wasn't afk or trolling. I was wearing crafted gear that could be perceived as spiritbonding gear by someone with no common sense; all ilvl70 with mostly Tier IV's and at least one overmeld per piece.

First boss I died on because the healers were godawful, or otherwise occupied. Other tank was not main tank for bone dragon, and I tanked 5/12 skele pops into proper position and reset near center for heals, which were very slow. Then I tanked 2 ahrimans on a platform right by the center platform, close enough for heals but away from everyone else, and died from non-aoe attacks.

2nd boss I tanked for the first minute as we were alliance A, then for the next 45 seconds or so because alliance B tanks never took over, until I died yet again, not from avoidable aoe, but from both healers focusing on keeping our pot alive.

I was dps for Atamos; other tank was pulling. I smacked a dira that popped while the previous mob was still at around 20% and ran it back, stunned it's fire, then went back to dps.

Also just saying you jump between "lotting" (which still makes no sense to me. Seriously look it up dice roles are not lots) and "rolling" which makes this a pita to read.

Cast lots is a FFXI term used for gathering loot. Traditionally, the "roll" is anywhere from 0 to 999. It's based-on an old lottery concept called sortition. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sortition The more you know~
