Am I ready for Titan HM?

Would you guys say I'm ready for Titan hard mode with the gear I have at the moment? (I know the tactics, etc.)
I hear people say to obtain "Ifrit's Blade", but It seems the sword I have at the moment is about as good. (weird)
If this won't do, what gear pieces specifically would you guys have me obtain? Thank you

    • Full Darklight
    • Darksteel Scutum (Shield)
    • Wolf Winglet (Sword)

    Vitality: 399
    HP: 4896

I would say it's possible, but if you really want to make it easier for yourself and everyone else, upgrade your Jewelry to the DL and the level 60 that drop in the HM dungeons and Pharos Sirius. I think you would survive, but you may lose hate with that weapon, if higher geared people are helping out so be on your A game with holding hate.

    1. You're not full Darklight. Full Darklight indicates the right side accessories as well with exception of ring since it's unique. You should have at least Hoplite in the other ring slot.
    2. Get a crafted Mailbreaker or farm for Garuda Gaze or Mogblade. You won't hold aggro against healers and DPS.
    3. Get your HP to about 5500 to be safe. Can do it with 5k but requires knowledgeable healers.

Yea maybe a couple more dl peice, or run thru ct once or twice for a drop, tanking is the easiest jon in titan hm, just make sur eu know how to dodge the bombs that appear near you while tanking, takes practice of course but getting hit by one explosion cann mean a quick end, and save a cooldown to be up when he does mountain buster. good luck dude

You look ok to me, but with 4896HP you'll have to make sure the healers you're playing with on Titan HM heal your properly during P5 when he does his 'Mountain Buster' followed by multiple Tumults, and also playing with higher geared DPS's you may find it harder to get the highest enmity sometimes, happens to me a lot :P

You have a smidgen less HP then is advisable, but it should be ok. Healers are just going to have to watch you closer.

Titan HM, for tanks, is pretty easy. The issue is far more skill based then gear based. That being said, upgrading your accessories to HQ Amber would probably bring you up to a more comfortable level of HP. I don't know about the market on Cerberus, but on balmung thats about 2.5-3.5k a piece.

Upgrade your gear to full darklight (accessories count) and get yourself either the Garuda weapon or the Mog weapon.

Then, hop into the Duty Finder and go wipe with a bunch of people that can't break the heart. You'll learn the basic attack patterns for the first 4 phases, which equal to about 50% of the fight. The other 50% is phase 5 and you will need to watch a video or two, then find a good group (probably via the Party finder or with your Free Company) to beat him.

Once you've actualy beaten him once, it'll be a lot easier the next times you fight him (other relics, farming his drops or whatever). Bottom line is if you haven't fought Titan, you cannot be ready to fight him. He's on another level from anything you've done thus far, and is the only hard part to getting a relic done.

I tanked Titan HM yesterday with a 4,896 HP Tank, what matters the most in Titan HM is experience, not gear, you could have Allagan armor and it wouldn't matter if you didn't know how to dodge or tank him effectively. I was actually less appropriately geared than you are, except for my jewelry side, which had 3 pieces of Fending gear, then the Master Gladiator's Ring, and a Darklight Ring of Maiming, for when I was the off-tank since I put all points into Vitality and I don't have enough for a Fending right now. I would also suggest getting the Flame Lieutenant's Katzbalger since that will be your best weapon till you do Ifrit, there's a Darklight Sword from Wanderer's Palace apparently, but I've never seen it drop once, which you should probably attempt first.

If that's your first class that you're leveling, please go into the other fights first and get some more experience. As much as I like being the only one that survives awhile in Titan HM, giving information to people over and over again gets annoying, I just want to get one or two weapons and be done with it, which can't happen if even one person doesn't know the fight well enough to stay alive.

    Hi OP,

I think your gear is sufficient for tackling Titan. I think many of us have gotten used to higher gear or at least playing alongside some players decked out.

Experience will go a long ways. Most custom parties I've seen tend to throw all their eggs into one basket with a single tank. If that happens, you'll be in one of those "all the pressure on the tank" scenarios. e.g. dodging bombs and knowing when to use defensive cooldowns.
