Which ffxi job would you play in xiv?

I would abandon everything for Blue Mage. My secondary job would have been Ninja, so I'm set there. Tertiary would be Samurai.

I took Blue Mage to the absolute limit in Final Fantasy XI, got Tizona (Mythic Weapon) and all. And I'd do it here too.

I would love Dark Knight with 14's faster battle system, but a bit scared it would end up like a souleater kraken club drk eating the dirt lol

There isn't a job from XI that I enjoyed that I would trust them to port over.

By the same token, they're welcome to port over RDM and SAM. Never liked those guys. (My DRK had an inferiority complex when meriting with SAMs)

I'd say Dark Knight, but would just clarify, "Giant Sword Class". If that's Dark Knight, awesome, if not, I'd still like to see it, whatever they call it.

None. They were all far too reliant on gear swaps to work here.
