BRD have 20dex over Archer.
the only skill that deals/boost dmg ARC can get but not BRD are fracture and merci strokes.
=>BRD is better DPS than ARC.
And if he says he want to play RNG i think he means pure DPS and he dont want to be a wanabe OT who can only tank a mob that die in <5GCDs

I'd love to see some of the old classics return, but mostly I'd like to see jobs which bring their own unique mechanics to the game.
Thief is an obvious choice. Aside from the trademark steal skills they had some unique fighting mechanics which were crucial in some areas of FFXI. Using Trick Attack to add enmity to tanks is one example, and guaranteeing a critical hit with Sneak Attack is another. Combining SA with TA and a powerful skill gave Thief insane damage in the FFXI midgame, easily capable of outstripping even a Black mage ancient magic spell.
Blue Mage is another choice morsel, but only if they set it up well. I'd like to see a return to having to LEARN certain spells rather than have them granted at a specific level. It adds another level of gameplay to the class and gives the opportunity to give rare and powerful skills to those who challenge tougher enemies.

I'd love Ninja and Dancer, but I'd also like to see Samurai and Dark Knight so I could convince my fiancé to play with me.

My favorite job from XI was BST, and I would most certainly enjoy seeing it brought over to XIV if done right. That is to say, if the pet mechanics are different than SMN. I would also really enjoy playing as PUP again.
But just in case they try to shoehorn the SMN pet mechanics to other pet jobs, I probably would choose DNC.
Thief
Puppetmaster
Corsair
Current FF14 ARR is great game, but their IT failed badly to make people walk away ...
Sad and shamed...

i really enjoyed it in ff11 and would love it in ffxiv dancer, thief and blumage

Dancer
/chocobjig away
Red Mage
Dancer

PUP. I spent months gathering all of the attachments, skilling it up, mastering the maneuver system... I loved the level of depth in that job.
