Not in your list. Not in your "not included for X reason" list.If the dev team was to implement these jobs from ffxi, exactly as they played in ffxi, which would you drop your current main job to play and why? I'm not including certain jobs in the selection list because there are already 1000 posts on DRK and RDM, etc.
Puppetmaster - monk like dps with an mage/archer/tank automaton
Corsair - ranged dps with randomized group buffs
Beastmaster - warrior like play style with a furry/crab like pet
Thief - SATA and Steal
Dancer - Daggery goodness with finesse.
Ranger - like a bard, but no group usefulness outside of higher dps. You constantly run out of expensive ammo.
Personally, I would drop smn for pup because melee combos are more fun than ruin spam. But, I like the pet aspect of the job.
Blue Mage.

Corsair!!! I need to dress up like a pirate!! A good hat with a feather in it might even get me to turn my hats back on. Dancer would be good, too!

For this, I actually pick Rune Fencer (as shown on my current siggy). It's like combination of XI's warrior & red mage. And badass too.![]()

Samurai.... hmm what else. oh! Samurai... also with that i think Samurai would be a good add on..... Skillchain stuff!
Blue Mage/Ninja
Goodbye, Final Fantasy...
Bard, and i know we have it in XIV...but i want the XI Bard.

Rune Fencer, had almost everything I ever wanted in a job: A+ greatsword skill, A+ parry skill, the ability to potentially shrug off magic attacks that would one-shot a pld or nin, actually made bar spells useful, and it could do good damage on top of all that. Sub rdm or blu and it was a superb solo class.
I'd love to see ranger and ninja again as well, perhaps give ranger cross class abilities with cnj, alc, and btn. In combat, you would do high damage, while having basic healing magic, outside of combat, you could gather herbs to make unique items (in the spirit of living off the land.) and have tracking skills.

DRK...provided it can actually land a hit for once.

XI and XIV are 2 different games, with different mechanics. You wouldn't be able to play any XI job, in XIV, as it is in XI...
Blue mage has tonnes of skills - in XIV you got 5 job skills...so how would you play Blue Mage in XIV, with just 5 skills?
They didn't even wanna add Leviathan egi, to SMN, cause that'd be an extra skill, then they'd have to add an extra skill to all other jobs, too..
So if they add 100 mob-skills to blu, they'd have to add 100 skills, to all other jobs...
SCH is quite different between XI and XIV.
Puppetmaster sounds to much like SMN.
BRD is very different between XI and XIV. in XI it has shitloads of songs, in XIV...not so many, for the 5-job-skill-reason. So therefor DNC would be equally....*gimped* Maybe they could add DNC as job, to PGL, but that would just make it a melee-brd, which would be stupid.
RNG sounds pointless, since BRD is already DPS; it can deal as much damage as any other DD. Also they already gimped BRD, since it was OP, so why would they add RNG, that is higher dps? There's no ammo, in XIV, so you couldn't run out of it.
THF seems pointless too; what would you steal? boss' drop chests, would THF add chance for extra chests? that would increase loot by 50-100%, OP much. Or it'd just be useless stuff like x-pots, or such.
COR...randomized buffs....no thnx.
SAM is based on skillchains...no such thing in XIV, and it has none of those traits/specialized skills, so it won't play the same.
SAM as tank would feel stupid, since it would kind of look like WAR, with 2hand sword, instead.
NIN, doubt they'd add it as dodge tank. and at best, those tools, would be utility skills, from base class.
RDM, as i mentioned earlier....5 job skills...and SCH. RDM will probably just be melee-caster-dps hybrid, OR healer. you couldn't be both, since you wouldn't be able to pick what to que as, in DF.
Then there's the issue with gear-stats; it's obviously not going to have all stats.
Because of limited skills/no traits, no XI jobs would work, as is, in XIV.

Yes but I fear the only ability we will learn will be 'Heavy' *rolls eyes* lol
