Full VIT for bonus stats. As a PLD I use melded Gryphonskin with high DET if I want to do more DPS. Because Sword Oath increases your AA damage it allows me to do the greatest damage with out pulling hate from the MT.

My thought is that if you're not in a static group, allocate 30 into VIT and let the accessories determine your shift in STR and VIT. If you're overgeared for content, feel free to use the STR accessories. If your healer is new to the content or minimally geared, you'll have the VIT acc to give them cushion.

If you're spending Myth though, I would recommend upgrading your "left" side first as that will have STR and VIT upgrades.

And if you can afford it, in all myth/time and philosophy/gil wise, have multiple accessory sets to allow for more flexibility.

    Accessories:
Full i90 VIT accessories: 75 VIT (about 1088 HP before Defiance)
Full i90 STR accessories: 65 STR
Double melded i70 accessories: 50 VIT and 45 STR (about 725 HP before Defiance).

You can go full STR with a static i think for warrior, don't think it's great for a paladin.
Actually before the 2.1 i would have say full VIT but now if you know when to use inner beast and the others CD you can tank really well with a full STR build.I already tanked the extreme primal with my warrior(7k9 hp with food) and did the 4 turn of bahamut. Not playing MT on the T5 tho our paladin is here for that.
There is stricly no problem in tanking with full STR as a warrior.
