Will there be a time limit on the free ps3 to ps4 game upgrade?

I know that come April we will be able to upgrade, but will this special upgrade have to be done within a certain amount of time?

That is, will i lose the chance to upgrade for free if i dont upgrade before May? (just an example)

If the upgrade is done through PSN and re-calibrated for the PS4 from the PS3, then I wouldn't think so. None of the other upgrades are timed. Its kinda hard to say for sure since FFXIV's actual service is first party and PSN distribution is 3rd Party in relation. So really it depends on where the upgrade is from. If the upgrade is from the use of the PSN's system to upgrade a PS3 game to a PS4 game, then I can see it being free with no time limit as MMOs are Free to Play by PSN's standards. If the service needs the upgrade is through SE, then maybe there is a time limit.

im a ps3 player that will eventually get a ps4 but im a little gun shy about buying consoles when they first come out (issues, light of death, etc.). would be nice to know if i upgrade after a year that the option for a free transfer is still viable.

It seems to be a "Transfer service" so it should be around in 1 year and longer i don't really know

Cause of this and not knowing if or when my ps4 might fail, I'll just get a ps4 version i wanted to get the CE from gamestop not the online store...

I want to know if someone does the free upgrade/transfer how would they be able to play on ps3 again buy another ps3 game/code or something?
