It would be cool if they allow us to customise our companions.
Alway wanted a Lalafell smuggler as one. Nasty little buggers with a knife, they are.

Heli's Black Market open for business. Sells black market items for your exotic needs.
closed for business till further notice
I hope not...
I'd rather they brought a Beastmaster that actually had pets to fight with rather than have everyone have their own housepets fighting monsters on the battlefield.
There is a little Monkey in all of us....
As a Chocowacker member i'm against allowing other animals to be part of the companion system. It should be only for Chocobos, in all sizes, colors and glory ^^
Um... We have a behemoth, an armoured living machine with cannons and machine guns, a clawed toothed electricity producing lion thing, an evil eye from hell and 2 horned mythical beasts. I think the closest thing we have to a "house pet" would be the chocobo itself, ironically the only thing we can use as a companion...
If they don't add an actual Pet job, hopefully they sort out the Chocobo Companion first, it's still very much an unfinished system.
The two things that have been discussed by Yoshida in the past are the following:
- Chocobo being the primary mount will be the only mount with any sort functionality/interactivity that will be more than just a mount. Ie. being able to level, summon, battle, etc..
- There was a brief mention where Yoshida was talking about possibly customizing the appearance only of Magitek armour, no weapons (as player mounts can't attack/shoot/spray/omglazers/whatever). There might be special missions where you can use a Magitek mount but I think we've already seen those, ie story line mission. Or the beastmen daily mounts.
I apologize for not having the source at the time of my posting this. It was a while back I'll see if I can find them and post links.

The road is very long, so we would greatly appreciate your patience and support. m(._.)m

http://massively.joystiq.com/2013/09...expanding-fun/Q: Can we customize our magitek armor (such as changing parts or the color scheme)?
A: I think we were asked this before, but yes customization will be possible. You'll see something eventually as the character and modeling teams are pumping out lots of ideas. I think our players are looking forward to the chocobo and magitek armor more than any other mounts, so in the future we will be discussing where these mounts will play an active role in the game. Actually, we're already working on something with the chocobos, but want to make sure it's engaging, and really shows off what makes this game a FINAL FANTASY title.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...l=1#post506061Yoshida was next asked about additional game features and actions and how they will be incorporated into the game's controller scheme. His response touched on the cross hotbar and the fact that further functionality can be mapped to it with relative ease. There's room to grow in terms of things like flying mounts because instead of simply pressing a button and jumping, you could press and hold the button to fly.

The development team is planning to make it possible to obtain magitek armor via a challenging quest related to the Garleans. From what I hear, it will not be something that is easy to obtain!
For those of you interested in customizing your magitek armor, you will be happy to know that the development team is looking into this, but they are heading in the direction where it will not affect stats.
This is pretty exciting if you ask me and I hope you are looking forward to it!
Snurble, out!
