Except that this is nothing like FATES. Fates are challengeless pointless fights. They drop nothing, spawn every 10 minutes, and require no brain cells to do.
not a bad idea just make the items bound and untraddable already have enough bot issues don't need them all over my dailies simply because a rare mob might spawn that would suck. also i like that they only drop farmable ilvl gear.
of course with 2.2 i90 will be farmable![]()
Sorry for maybe a noob question because I never XI and only played 1.0 for like 2 weeks.
But if we have open world 'Boss' monsters like NMs (is that what they are?), what's there to stop 100 players come and kill them in 10 seconds? Like what happened now to Odin (I know we can't kill Odin in 10 seconds but I suppose NMs are weaker than Odin?).
That will be like some free loot for people who bother running them, rather than some challenge/team work/fun.
the current currency basically gives away the best gear for no effort unless you do coil. so getting i70 gear (the current farmable gear) which is still pretty freaken easy to get it's free gear that will be replaced in a week or two so it doesn't matter.Sorry for maybe a noob question because I never XI and only played 1.0 for like 2 weeks.

I think some people are reading too far into the numbers he posted. They're just ideas, SE can balance the rest.
Imho go ahead and make super hard fates, that dont die in 10 seconds. Make them live longer and give them actual
good drops. Make drop rate based on who gets claim, and rating at the end. Get claim? party gets 2% more drop rate
Gold? 20% common drop 5%rare drop
Silver 10% common drop 2% rare drop
Bronze? 5% common drop 1% rare drop
Do those numbers matter at all? not really cause SE can change them to w/e they want to be balanced.

Because those FATE bosses/mobs are easy. REAL open world bosses, can't be zerged down.Sorry for maybe a noob question because I never XI and only played 1.0 for like 2 weeks.

The more incentive there is to a fight (such as loot or exp, in the case of Dark Devices in early 2.0), the more likely you'll find overgeared people waiting to claim it, take the inferior gear, and sell it for a quick buck.
FATEs are the open world NMs without much incentive, Behemoth and Odin are the NMs WITH incentive. Anyone can CLEARLY see the problem with both of these, right? "FATEs are pointless" and "Open world Primals have so much competition it's causing glitching and 90k's". So what do you propose as middle ground? Leveling up is so quick, and upgrading gear can be done every 10-15 levels with no repercussions.
It seems to me - as much as it pains to admit it - that instanced stuff (or options like treasure maps) are the best way to keep server strain in check AND to help with unfair claiming. Granted, after the game grows a bit more, adding new territories and perhaps multiple NMs like Odin and Behemoth popping at once, people may be more spread out, but it'll take time.
I think SE wants people to experience the story and content they created, and also to see the player base improve as a whole, not go to the MB and buy the best stuff and say, "I'm done!"

This. They would have to change the fundamental mechanics of battle in the game so that unlike a regular FATE it would be locked to the party that claimed. Even if you used contribution as criteria, it would wind up meaningless if 100 people hammered the monster down. Everything is zergable when unlimited people can attack it. Even if you put a huge painful AoE in, it'll just promote zombie zerging like happens with current FATE NMs. And we all know what happens when we introduce claiming...Sorry for maybe a noob question because I never XI and only played 1.0 for like 2 weeks.

Going to post this here as well, seeing as how there are currently two ongoing threads about almost the same thing...
Edit: This refers to current open world content!
Oh boy, I can fate grind for a pitiful amount of gil + random and non important flame seals. Oh boy, I can go do treasure maps for drops that have already had their market value crashed into the ground within the first two weeks of them being released and gear that is beyond useless to any level 50 that does them. Oh boy, I can do dailies which are beyond boring and have already lost all worth to anyone who has ever played any other MMO with dailies in them. (Not saying some people don't like them, it's just that it's hardly open world content when it takes less than 15 minutes for rewards that are just for vanity.)
Edit: This refers to why people are stupid for crying about any sort of NM being in the game.
I really fail to understand why people are so against open world NMs, it's not like they have to drop best of the best of the best gear or anything. It could be small quality of life stuff, like a necklace that gives your stone skin casts +3% with barely any stats on it. Perhaps a pair of pants that gives you +5% movement speed in sanctuaries or something non important to battle. I don't understand why people think "OMG NMs, THEY WILL JUST GIVE THEM THE BEST STUFF EVER AND EVERY BOT FOREVER WILL FARM THEM AND I'LL NEVER HAVE MY CHANCE EVER OMG OMG NO!" FFXIV 1.0-1.2 most NMs were NEVER camped, every time I went to one, there was NO ONE there. So your shit arguments about being over camped are only because of your expectations for the best gear ever being attached to them.
Edit: Because I wanted to add a little humor to my post... Being afraid of adding NMs to the game because of the repercussions of them being in the game is similar to being afraid of going to your friends birthday party because you could choke on their birthday cake. If you are that afraid of them, YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO THEM! Just like if you are afraid of choking on birthday cake YOU DON'T HAVE TO EAT IT!
