    I'm against telegraphing all together. In any game.
    Degrades combat to playing Dance Dance Revolution where you watch the ground instead of watching the mob and learning its behavior and movements.
    If it makes sense, I'm cool with it (like a growing shadow from a falling meteor during a boss fight, or a volcanic eruption beneath your feet that you can see growing).
    But generic colored circles? Get rid of them all I say.

    It takes a bit getting used to them and the pulsing is distracting but it serves its purpose of getting your attention I guess, but they're also harder to see in a couple of locations. I agree they should have synced the cast bar to the pulsing like pretty much every other MMO that uses AoE markers like TSW, Wildstar or even TESO, feels like once again they copied a "global standard" MMO feature but only halfway.

    Oh and yeah you can always look at the cast bar but I'd honestly like to look more at the game than the UI, even if yes, the UI is part of the game, but I'd rather look what at the monsters are doing and the field than keep looking at a single UI element and yes there are other things that don't have markers that you still have to watch the cast bar for like stuff that needs to be silenced or Death Sentence for example, and yes this isn't another MMO and this is a design decision of the team I am an entitled gamer for wanting a specific feature that goes against their vision, you can get that out of your way too don't need to mention it, no you can't have my stuff.

    Love the new AoE indicators myself. But I'd go a step further. I'd make them contrast to the underlying ground texture to have them always be visible no matter the ground texture. But yes I can understand that some people would prefer to have an option to adjust the colours. Is that a bad thing? No not at all. As someone who isn't colourblind I still had problems with the red markers... now in t1, pharos, odin and basically anywhere else had no issues with them at all.

    If all you do is log in once a week and complete Coil, then maybe you don't appreciate it. In Coil, AoE circles were always easy to see due to the level designs and outlandish color schemes. But try Brayflox's Longstop, or outdoors in certain weather/lighting conditions, or in busy FATE scenes like Odin or Behemoth or the King Behemoth battle in Labyrinth of the Ancients. There were so many situations that made the AoE circles being a simple red clump get swamped and nearly invisible due to lighting, color filters, and other effects. The AoE circles are so clearly visible now, no matter the circumstances, the pulsing only helps to make them visible and have you staring at the ground less. Opening you up to focus on other things.

    I think these new AoE circles are so much better now, and I'm not colorblind.

    I can agree that an option to change the color of the targeting ring based on your preferences would be good, especially so you can make it contrast with certain flooring as needed. That being said... in what way are the pulses throwing you off? The edges of the ring don't pulse, they are solid then fade just like the whole ring did before the change, so watch the edge of the ring and when it fades, you go back in.

    That looks good to me. I could not see the previous indicator at all. I had to figure out the range of the attack, and dodge based on what I thought it was. Either that, or just run away until the attack when off, but that doesn't really work well as a tank. The attack in the image can be stunned, so that's actually what I do, but there were many fights that I dodged based on what others told me. Though, I will agree that it would be nice if they would give people the option.
