Funny thing for me is, I've never done the timing for running back in based on the AoE marker fading, but on the cast bar completing, much more reliable.

Personally, I like the change, makes it more noticeable, though the AoE markers over all make the game seem a fair bit easier, mind you with how many aoe effects there are that you have to dodge, it makes sense.

    SE, just do this:

    Choice of Color
    Slider for Contrast
    Slider for Opacity

    Done.

Thanks for the feedback regarding the 'pulse' timing on the new indicators.
We've passed along the suggestion of timing the pulse to match with the action being readied to the effects team. They're currently looking into whether or not it's possible to implement!

I think subtle pulses (for readability), underlying a thicker pulse that indicated cast-time would be perfect.

And the option to perhaps change its color or opacity.

Please pass that along as well! TY!

I would like an option to choose the old red color as I greatly prefer it to the gold color.

the change is great in my humble opinion as it helps make the game better for many players, but i have noticed that there are major issues with it.

    1. in certain areas (and camera views) AoE is now pretty much invisible. i was doing my hunter log yesterday and i kept getting hit and couldnt figure out what the issue was, turned out it was my (normal for me) camera angle mixed with the water making the AoE virtually invisible. when it was red, water never seemed to really affect the indicator at any angle.

    2. pulses can make it very misleading on when to go back in resulting in players sometimes getting hit, it sometimes looks as if the effect has expired, you move in and Bam, another pulse and AoE effect in the face.

    3. other players AoE can sometimes confuse your AoE indicator resulting in a very bad hit that you thought you avoided (quarrymill fate and leve farming anyone).

I like the new AoE indicator. The old one wasn't hard to see per se, but could be easy to miss in some environments or situations.
As for having them sync up, I don't think that's a big deal at all. I'm not going to try and time it just right, I'm going to get the heck out of there.

Honestly, I am not sure I like the color of them. I don't mind them but it seems a little weird sometimes.

im thankful they changed the colour. being colour blind it was hard to see on a normal day let alone being on a red or dark floor, or when covered with scholar or bard aoes. thank you getting rid of the nasty "big red"

I think a better option than making everything color-blind friendly (which Garuda still isn't green-wise)...

...just implement a "color-blind mode" please, but readability for everything else non-color specific is always a plus.
