Character level to post in other forums

Hi all,

I'm currently having some difficulty understanding something. My in-game character is currently level 20 as of last night. The forum guidelines that were provided to me before state that I would need to be at least level 15 in order to post on any of the other forums except this one and several others. However, when I try to...it's stating I've either reached the maximum or my level is not high enough.

Does posts from this forum count towards your daily todal and if not...why are the forums not recognizing my level?

There is some lapse between when the lodestone/forums recognize your level and your current level in game. I would give it a little time, maybe try to log in and out to prompt an update(not sure if this has any actual effect).It should be working for you soon.

The forums already recognize that I'm level 16, which should at least allow me to make 3 posts. Why did they make these kinds of stipulations in the first place? First forum I've ever used that had anything like this.

It was designed as a way to limit spam and RMTs. It's not the best system though.

Because they do not much care what we have to say and want to limit our complaints. I have no idea why these weird forum restrictions exist, but I would assume it is to prevent Spamming and advertisements being posted. There is only one mod I think, so can't have them getting overwhelmed.

There's an easy way to fix that...get more mods or even have some volunteers to mod the forums. But that's logic talking.

Does posts from this forum count towards your daily todal and if not...why are the forums not recognizing my level?

If I'm remembering correctly, when the post-beta forums first went live (with the restrictions in place), posts in these unrestricted forums did count toward your daily total. So if you get three posts a day, you could post those three in restricted forums, then come here and post all you want. But if you posted here three times, you wouldn't be able to post in the restricted forums until the next day.

I wouldn't count on my memory that much, though, and it might have changed; it could also be that the forums haven't fully caught on to your level somehow.

Oh, and it really does look at everything you've posted within the last 24 hours, not just the current day with a once-a-day complete reset. So for instance, if you can post three times per day and on one day you submit posts at 11am, 1pm, and 3pm, then you'll have to wait until after 11am the following day for one more posting opportunity, until after 1pm for a second opportunity, and after 3pm for a third opportunity, as that's when each of the previous day's posts pass that 24 hour mark.
