    Steam activation code.

I ran out of subscription time on my FFXIV:ARR account recently and a friend decided to get me the steam version of the game thinking that i would get the 30 days of the code given with the purchase.

Problem is that i dont know if its possible to add the code to an already created service account or am i forced to create a new one to use it.

Whey didn't they just buy you a time card? Steam code is also a PC code so if you already have the PC version you can't add another PC code to your account.

Thank you for the reply. They dont sell them in the near by stores and he didnt know to start with, he is new to this and just wanted to have a nice gesture with me. Oh well.

One other thing, its unrelated but Im curious about it and dont seem to find the anwser. When you merge two service accounts do the characters of the account thats being merged pass on?

When purchase from Steam, your Steam account will acknowledge the FFXIV in the library and allowing Steam Overlay. You will be provided with FFXIV registration code. You will need to create new Service Account with your SE ID - which will include 30 days game time; You can log in using existing Service Account, but the game time will not be included or added. The FFXIV registration code provided via Steam purchase is theoretically usable by anyone, not necessary be Steam account tied.

It is quite unlikely in near future to have ability to merge different Service Accounts together.

I beg to differ, the merge option has been for quite a while since all the problems that people from the beta had by accidently creating a new service account instead of using the activation code on the beta one. I am going trough that transaction right now, thats why the question.
