[to DEVs] BUG? Issues with Duty finder as BLM in CT

Hi. I always thought that my queues in Duty Finder as BLM were longer than as melee, but i assumed it was only my fancy. But then this happened to me.

- At 13:00 I sign in in Duty finder as BLM solo for Laberynth of ancients (CT). All languages and party in progress on.
- At 13:30 a DRG friend of me enter the game and signs in for CT. Solo too. I'm still waiting.
- At 13:35 begins the join / withdraw "fun" for both of us at the same time. Good, seems we will go to the same party in CT.
- At 13:36 the DRG enters CT. I don't. WTF?
- At 13:45 I enter as BLM in CT...

Later on, i sign as DRG to CT and enter 3 mins later...

Ok, I understand the long queue as DPS. But why the DRG entered in CT before me, if we both are the same role (DPS) and i signed in 30 mins earlier than him? Maybe is a bug and Duty finder splits DPS role in ranged and melee with different queues? (Think of PVP)

Like ... it prefers 50/50 ratio.... will launch with 100% one side or other, but prefers to get to 50/50.... so drg/mnk pop a little more quickly for CT

BLM? I get this all the time with BRD.

1.5 hours seeking on BRD. Nothing. Give up.
15 min on DRG and I am in.

Friend on another server has noticed the same thing.

Duty Finder tries to balance each party with optimally 2 melee DPS and 2 ranged DPS. There are just more people playing RDPS, a bazillion BRDs, BLMs and SMNs. I've seen runs where the entire ally was all ranged DPS and one melee DPS in the entire alliance.

The way Duty Finder handles instance reservations seems to exacerbate the RDPs queue times.

Duty Finder tries to balance each party with optimally 2 melee DPS and 2 ranged DPS. There are just more people playing RDPS, a bazillion BRDs, BLMs and SMNs. I've seen runs where the entire ally was all ranged DPS and one melee DPS in the entire alliance.

In order to prevent unbalanced party compositions when using the duty finder, the following changes to party requirements have been made only for the Wolves' Den.

Maybe the implemented a similar queue as PvP. Where it balances a Melee to Range DD ratio.

I noticed something similar trying to join a PF group as BLM. It said they were looking for a DPS, but when I rolled over the icon, BLM wasn't listed.

I can't remember where it was mentioned, but Duty Finder has always tried to mix jobs and roles so that a balanced party is created. Now if that isn't possible, it then starts filling in just based on role. Ranged and melee DPS are not the same thing and it'll try to mix them so I'm assuming the imbalance of melee/ranged numbers is what causes the longer wait times. If there are less melee in the queue, they'll get in first to create those more mixed parties. DF also tries to mix up the tanks and healers the same way so that there's less class stacking.

This means the person setting up the PF did not select all dps as an option or specifically excluded BLM for some reason.
