I have the standard PC/PS3 versions registered to my SE account. Rather than pay £15 for an upgrade i thought it would be better to download the Collectors edition through STEAM for £17 and have FFXIV in my STEAM library and register the code for the bonus items.

The code cannot be registered this way and the only way you can upgrade is by paying £15 through the mog station. All be it this is not stated anywhere on the SE website or STEAM store, SE will not do anything about this.

STEAM refused to refund me (understandable) and after speaking to a very rude call taker yesterday SE will not do anything to help me with this problem and the response i got over the phone was "unlucky". SE refused to honor the in game bonus items even with a brand new unused collectors edition code being given to them.

For anyone that plans to upgrade your account to collectors edition THE ONLY WAY IS THROUGH THE MOG STATION

I have requested that this information is displayed on SE website or the STEAM store, from scrolling through STEAM forums i am not the only person fallen victim to this.

It seems the customer service offered by SE for FFXIV is very poor.

Alfie

I think you're barking up the wrong tree... Steam version is controlled by Steam, where the keys are purchased/licensed in bulk from Square-Enix, which when a Steam user purchased, is then entitling the Steam user to use the license to play.

Also, it is stated on Steam FFXIV page.
