Constantly Stuck in Conversations

Ok, so I started playing about a week ago, and on and off I've been getting stuck in conversations, where the NPC is saying nothing, my PC is saying nothing, and I cannot do anything. I can't leave, can't log out or exit through the menu, all I can do is force quit using the PS button... which is a pain in the ass, as it means I need to log in again.

I know it's not lag, because I can see players around me running about, crafting and levelling up while I'm stuck there... is this a known/being worked on bug (some searches didn't reveal anything), or is it something else I'm missing? Any help would be good! Also, I'm playing on PS3...
