Indeed - but I meant in this paticular case as OP is lvl 17 atm.

hey man is cool. most of the time other players will actually just give you advice. best you can do is let them know you are new and trust me they will all help you out. if you are in Brynhildr look me out ill will personatly help you out if you reside in tht server. So, I started playing this game a couple of days ago and I've been putting off having to use Duty Finder, to be honest.
It's not that I hate partying up with people or anything, I played quite some MMOs in the past, so it's not like I'm a complete greenhorn either.
It's just that I'm kinda nervous to actually do a dungeon for the first time >.< I'm afraid I screw up and get flamed at and stuff, even though I know I prolly shouldn't care about that >.<
Anyone able to give some advice? Anything would be appreciated, really
ps. dont worry about the others saying anything bad. most of them began the same way prob.
Once more into the Fray,
Into the last good Battle I'll Ever Know.
Live and Die on this Day....
Live and Die on this Day!

I just finished my first dungeon and I gotta say, it was awesome!
The people I partied with were really nice and I even got a nice piece of gear out of it (that'll prolly be obsolete in a few levels, but hey xD)
I'm totally looking forward to doing the next dungeon now![]()
Just wanted to note that there's really no harm in asking whatsoever, even at level 50 / as tank / as heal.
MY first run through wanderers palace was as a tank and while I read through bossguides (which basically read: nothing to do here^^) I was in no way prepared for the dungeon.
I let the party know right at the start of the instance and you know what? A Dragoon actually said I should just follow him and pull whatever he runs up to, follow him to evade the tomberry shade and skip whichever mobs he ignored.
So he basically led me through the whole dungeon, which was not that much work, but benefited both me and the group A LOT. Most people are nicer than you'd expect ^.^
Though occassionally it will be different, for instance I got kicked right out of a Garuda hard mode group when I said it was my first time (with the 2nd group we clearid it first try with me being offtank though). Just ignore it and try again![]()
Try using youtube for guides on upcoming dungeons that way you can be somewhat prepared and not as nervous. If you mention to the party that you are new, but have watched a vid guide it might not be so rough..So, I started playing this game a couple of days ago and I've been putting off having to use Duty Finder, to be honest.

I did my first two dungeons within the past few days (I believe my first was Sunday, my next was Monday night). They were a bit intimidating since I only started playing on Saturday, but they were fairly straight forward. My second dungeon had experienced players with me, which was nice because they explained the best way to defeat the boss (the one that looks like a squid priest...I forget his name).
The loot system threw me off a bit since I'm using to play games that actually drop items on the ground instead of just raffling them off, but I got a spear I liked and am always sure to pass up on items I know won't be of use to me since I'm only focusing on one job at the moment. I was also surprised that the player commending feature only lasts as long as the member is still in the dungeon. By the time I figured out how it worked, everyone left and I couldn't praise anyone![]()
Glad to hear your first experience with DF went well. It won't always, but don't let the bad experiences get to you. Also, if you want to know what to look out for in a particular encounter, look up Eorzea Source in google(I'd post a proper link, but my phone can be...disagreeable with that). It's the best guide site I've found for this game so far.
