Is there any chance to add Final Fantasy X Blitzball gameplay in Final fantasy XIV?

Is there any chance to add Final Fantasy X Blitzball (other PVP game type) ?

I think we've got more chances of seeing a Miqo'te brothel in Ul'dah than we do have seeing Blitzball in the game (read: not very likely).

Ignoring my hatred for Blitzball in FFX, I seriously doubt it would ever be added to FFXIV simply because Blitzball was an important element of FFX's storyline, and thus any hypothetical appearance in ARR would completely invalidate that, simply appearing as shameless fanservice. Having said that though, a casino/themepark area similar to FFVII's Gold Saucer is coming so anything is possible I guess.

There are no blitzballs in Eorzea, There is no Zanrkand or Luca either. Hell there isn't even a Spira.


And last I checked, none of the Eorzean races can breathe perpetually underwater anyway so Blizball would be a pretty short/boring sport.

(This is the only kind of pvp that would work in FF14, in my opinion)

The idea of a extended Blitzball game was actually brought directly to Yoshinori Kitase (FFX Director/Producer) and Motomu Toriyama (FFX Event scenario director/writer). Here's the clip where they receive the idea:

As for having it a part of FFXIV:ARR, it's probably going to be too much work for the developers and wouldn't fit lore wise anyway.
