why isnt there a way to easily chat wth party members?

why do we have to use all these weird markings? theyre useful yes but i still think everytime u enter a dungeon ro soemthing, the chatbox should default to party. (with option to turn off)
as of now theres no communication at all except 1,2,3 mark on monsters and guessing on what the strategy for the fight is

/p, change to party chat and it stays in party chat until you change it to something else. I honestly don't think its very hard to type and hit enter.....

The tank most times will put 1 on the monster to hit and kill first 2 3 ect ppl do this so the tanks and healers job stays fair. With out them some not all party members go bat crap crazy and hit everything that moves this makes the tanks job hard since he now has to pull the monsters back on him same for the healer now they must go out of there way to wast more mp healing ppl as for party chat if your party is not talking then say something idk?

Thanks Mogi for explaining that in a nice tone for those who may not have even known what the marking is for other than some sort of communication THEY are not privy to if they aren't even aware of the chat mechanics. And lets be frank, the chat system is not really a part of the tutorial so there are some people who don't figure it out until they have a need to ask a question about it!



There are players who started at launch who still don't know if after you have clicked on all aetherytes within a city that you can from then on not only use the smaller ones to port around... but additionally you can go to that larger main aetheryte and click it, then click again on the top selection of 'aetheryte' and get options to port anywhere within the city ;o)

What a lot of people surmise is common knowledge, or should be, or you are a galumph if you haven't 'figured it out by now' is definitely arbitrary. ***You would be surprised how folks that have mainly enjoyed console games over the years and are not mmo vets think the actual plan, goal and action needed is to way-lay onto whatever mobs are in the group the 'leader' of the group/tank pulls - that the point is to get all the mobs burned down as fast as possible. Some of them not knowing the efficiency and other reasoning of mainly hitting the mob which the tank is currently on is actually the problem - not just the aholes who know and understand and pull/aggro other trash mobs just because.

There are actually a LOT of people who are starting mmo's in the near/recent past who don't understand the meat shield thingie other than on the 'biggest, baddest boss' mobs. Yes. I have heard this discussion from level 50 players as well as those who are still leveling.



So a combination of describing the efficiency/reasoning a tank has in mmo's may be in order in more than one group you participate in o-0, along of course with patience for newer players, comes also we need to know what questions lol it is that they DON'T ask because they have no basis of relativity. Even after grouping for some weeks, they don't know why someone got angry with them in that dungeon because after all they were just trying to 'help' with killing all the mobs. Often players get criticized with an assumption they actually know WHY you are hollering at them, and the ensuing argument is about the 'insult' but actual information is not conveyed.

If you're blocking party chat in your primary chat tab then... don't? Otherwise... I don't understand what on Earth is happening here...

You want a party only chat box? You can make one otherwise it not hard to talk in multiple chats at one time just type /p /fc /l# before w/e you want to type

Everybody knows about it, but the design of the game promotes an anti-social party system. So the result is everyone silently running dungeons and only speaking if they have to.
