Voice overs for NPC's and Character

Hi guys,

I've set the cutscene audio language to English, but I can't hear any of the NPC's or my character voices, so as of right now I'm reading the text.

Is there a way to fix this, in the settings, so that I can hear the voices of the NPC's and my character

Only certain story cutscenes feature spoken dialogue, usually cutscenes where the player is not directly referred to by name, but not always. The first one I remember was for the cutscene before and after the level 7ish instance solo battle for the player's starting city). Unfortunately there's no real way of telling if a scene is meant to have spoken dialogue or not, as even the spoken scenes use the same dialogue boxes as normal scenes.

Also your character never speaks during cutscenes - there are clearly times when they're meant to be talking (as it shows their mouth opening and closing as if they were, but you don't hear anything, and the npc your character was talking to merely repeats what they supposedly said in context), but whatever they say is never directly shown.

I think most of us were expecting more voice acting. I still enjoyed it, but even after completing the main scenario, I felt like I could count the number of voiced cutscenes on one hand.

Yeah, there should have been more voice acting. Although if you want the good stuff, you'll have to switch the spoken language to japanese, as that is by far the best track. The english and french ones have good moments and bad moments - they are ok overall. Avoid the german version though, it's pretty horrendous.

I don't speak any other language than English so that track would be best for me.

Quoted for truth. Never understood why people would want to listen to spoken dialog from another language they can't understand when also given the choice of their own language. Usually they say the tone of voices or whatever is better... But who really cares when you can't understand what's being said anyway? Perhaps they think, "Oh! I can totally get he's angry in Japanese, even though I can't understand a word he says, 'cuz his tone is so much more genuine! Couldn't get that in English AT ALL."

Well, I'd still play it, because final fantasy is one of my favorites
