    Unnessessary IP Ban?

At home I usually switch between mine and my friends router since internet tends to act screwy sometimes. One day, I got a notice on my launcher warning me about suspicious activity and telling me to change my account password. So, I did that while on my friends router. Come time when internet gets weird, I switch to mine, and the launcher fails the version check. I open my web browser and web pages load fine there, so its not like my internet doesn't work, the launcher is refusing to connect using my own internet, giving me enough reason to conclude Square Enix banned the IP address from accessing the game.

As far as thinking as to why Square would do that, I honestly can't recall a viable reason for this. It's not like my account is associated with RMT, and even if it was, wouldn't they ban the account instead of my IP? Or maybe they thought an unauthorized user has accessed my account, which seems more viable then the former, but banning IPs without getting a report for it first is like pouring a bucket of water on a stove that's not on fire.

Words cannot express how confused I am.

Get a keyfob. Two factor authentication. It gets rid of the IP blocking.

Really surprised everyone does not have these already.

Square doesn't ban IP's, they ban accounts. Version check errors can be caused by:

    Firewall
    Port Forwarding
    Corrupted Boot File
Antivirus (if you have Norton/Symantec make sure it's on)
    Poor internet connection
    UAC set too high
Permissions not set correctly in Windows
    Recent Windows update

Without the error code of the version check, it's hard to tell. There are work arounds for the above issues that you can try:

If you have a firewall on your router, turn it off
Port Forward the port range XIV uses on your router (UDP 55296-55551 TCP 80, 8080, 443, 55296-55551)
Get a known good boot folder (Reddit) and replace it with the one in Program Files (x86) > SQUARE ENIX > Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
Set your UAC down to as low as it will go
Make sure you have R/W permissions for your machine
Roll back to a previous state of Windows (before update)

    1 - Router doesn't have a firewall
    2 - ...what?
3 - How does this prevent the unique connection blocking?
4 - I'm sure I've done this before for a different reason, but i'll double check
    5 - I do
6 - If this, for whatever reason, is the only way to fix, then I need to stop playing

    Also, the errors are [30605][10009][10020]
